I get to have my first one tomorrow. I shouldn't be so stressed out about it, but the consent form I just signed a few hours ago that has the words, "possible death", don't seem all that encouraging. Oh, and no walking (at all) for 6-8 weeks, which if I don't have any physical therapy afterwards, will give me a grand total of thirteen months of no work. Yay

Make sure to mark your limbs "Do Not Remove" before going in. A red permanent marker will do.
Kidding.
Standard verbage. Good luck. You'll be fine Downtime blows. Been there.

I swear, I've been thinking about doing that and adding a smiley so as to not piss the doc off

I'd probably feel the same way. You got this. Wait... Do you have to walk to scoot?

Been there, done that, got the scar to prove it. If they give you self administered morphine for pain, enjoy it. You will be fine, Good luck and a speedy recovery. They usually warm up on this guy.(just kidding)

Jumped (stepped really) off the bed of a truck onto the corner of an empty shipping box that I thought would surely crush under my weight. Well, I guessed wrong and won't be doing that again.

Pull your work table up to the couch so you can get some work done while resting.

You got this man!!
You have to sign those forms for anytype of surgery, even a tonsillectomy. I have signed four of those in the last twelve months.
The down time thing SUCKS. I know. But rushing your recovery will make things so much worse. Just listen to the doctors and everything should be just fine.
Those forms are legally necessary due to unforseen circumstances Luke allergies to anesthesia and pain control meds.

If lawyers had anything to do with it, you'd sign a contract about "possible death" every time to eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom. You'll be alright. Make sure you've got access to the forum from that couch!

Make sure you've got access to the forum from that couch! I'm on it! I got it covered with a wireless keyboard and mouse. It's getting to the bathroom that's going to be the difficult part. Maybe I can take a page out of Howard Hugh's book and use mason jars?
