John is even more capable now. Stand back. Something cool is about to happen. I've looked over nothing more than mini-mills, kinda like the mini-lathe... so that thing looks like a monster! I didn't get into anything nearly as good as the stuff above by pink and 190 today. Part of a door was falling off of one of our sheds. One of those deals where I kept saying I'd get around to doing something about it. It actually fell off totally in the wind recently, so I guess I waited too long. The other half of the door would have to be rebuilt. The front floor is caving in. The paneling on the sides is rotting. The roof is warped. It would cost so much to fix it that a new one would make more sense. We don't really need it that bad though, so I spent a good chunk of the day cleaning out the larger shed to fit the stuff that I actually need from the smaller one and tossing the rest. I knocked the front off with a sledge hammer and ticked off some wasps in the process. We'll see what a dumpster rental costs vs a lot of truck loads that will be ~45 miles round trip each (basically a full day of going back and forth to a landfill with the truck). Not exactly sure how the rest is coming down. Considering tying it to the truck, but I think I'd need to at least try to knock out the back wall as well first and prob sawzall some trusses. I'd love to hook it to a scoot and pull it down, but I think that would end in a crash.

Some judicious stud cutting will bring it down. Just be very careful.
If your landfill is like the one here they charge a fee for each pickup load. With the sawzall you may get that down to a couple pickup loads. I found a dumpster to be a better deal both times I needed one even with an overweight charge.

Liberal amounts of sledge hammer with a dash of sawzall, followed by chaining it to the riding mower, brought the shed down. A dumpster is supposed to be here tomorrow. Checked Waste Management and they wanted $700 for a 20 yard for up to a week. Called a local company and it should be about $450 for up to 14 days for a 30yd, that's guesstimated by weight but at $80 a ton there's no way we're off by too much. It would be $200-250 cheaper to take it in the truck... but the truck is prissy. lol I miss the old Mazda that I could do truck stuff with, but the F-150 doesn't really have a scratch on it yet. The worst it sees is hauling a couple of bags to the local dump or hauling a scooter. I need to trim some high limbs and I don't like ladders. I used to stand in the back of the Mazda and do it. Now I'm like, crap I'd probably scuff it.

Good work! I have known people that took a hammer to a new truck and dinged the bed and a few panels just to be able to USE it and not worry about scratches, scuffs, and door dings etc. Usually I got door dings and scratches anyway before I had a chance to obsess about such things. Of course, with today's trucks it only takes an empty beer can tossed in the bed to scratch and ding them. LOL
Waste Management is run by the Mob.
It looks like a 20 yd would take the mess. Just use a tape measure and estimate the volume. You might have to sawzall a couple pieces some more and stack some panels... 20 cubic yards is big.
Tree companies can make short work of trimming high branches, they are equipped for it. Let the PRO's do it.

How about a permit for a yard waste burn?

Not that high. Like the stuff that you can see in the pic resting on the other shed for example. Just too high for me on the ground. If I'm up 2 rungs on a ladder I think I'm gonna die. lol A cheap pole saw would probably make the most sense for me. Basically annual trimmings just to keep stuff off of the shed and make sure the driveway is clear for trucks. How about a permit for a yard waste burn? I could get rid of the wood that way, but that wouldn't fly here. This is my parents' house and fire freaks my mother out. I don't argue about that because she lost a cousin and her 4 kids in a fire before I was born.

Cheap pole saw it is. I can understand about the fire. I lost a friend that way.

No mo shed. The floor was a pain, but 2T to the rescue (fired up the chainsaw). This was one of those deals where I wish I wouldn't owe someone 2X the favors to get a little help, cause it would have been so much easier not working alone. The 30 yard dumpster is about 2/3 full, so maybe we could have used a 20 yard. Since we've still got 13 days left at no additional charge, I'm gonna clean out a little bit of other stuff though. I could try to break up the concrete that was in front of the shed, but I dunno if I've got that in me right now. Who wants to take a guess at how many flat tires the mower has over the next month? lol Thinking about one of those cheap magnetic rollers (I think $35-40 at HF).

I know how you feel about the help, I have a few projects around that require two people. My main helper for those things got married and moved away so we can't exchange favors anymore. My brain is so screwed up that it is dangerous for me to work alone. The magnet might help but it will never get all the nails and screws. That is why neverleak/slime/latex-paint was invented. Lawn tractor/mower tires are so thin it takes nothing to puncture them. They should make them with that permanent foam filling, -of course that never works well either, too soft.
I also know how you feel about ladders. I used to not worry too much but with diabetes I don't heal and a broken bone could be fatal or result in an amputation.

Ok, so I did not work on this... I gotta guy that does my Vespa work. But:
Finally put the Pinasco tubeless wheels on, replacing the front and rear suspension with pinasco, and putting a SIP caliper on the front. Lots of colors, the bike is red, the shock is yellow and the caliper is blue.
I already replaced the 150cc engine with the DR 177 kit with a ‘87 p200e engine. I gotta tell ya, that switch is night and day from the old engine. Not much faster but smoother shifts, just a better engine. Way better ride. This is my go to stick now, even before the ruck and the 2020 Vespa. It’s so much fun.

All I have done is dispensed 4 gallons of weed killer mixed with Roundup. Everything is growing like this is the middle of a hot humid equatorial jungle. Maybe the Predators are about to arrive.

Not so much work on but since garage mechanic now uses a 2 poster ramp mostly with the arms that swing out we were talking about workshop trollys which we could both do with on wheels but not some cheap thing that rattles apart. So next day I was down the tommy the tat's shop for some reason and got offered a coffee so got chatting and mentioned to him what needed and hey presto 2 super strong working height trollies for £40 and today when I went to collect 2 sheets of stainless for tops for £20 would have cost me more for one of quality so Me and Wes have one each. His for free because of the favours he does me from time to time. Even fitted me fold up chair and fold up workmate on it. Tomorrow the tops will be cut for it

Cut the old stainless up to make a shelf today on trolley plus a small whatever tray with the leftovers and have a nice left over channel which might make a scooter ramp with the other bit that is over the garage with both pushed into each other unless to weak. We will see another time.
