I did some welding on galvanized this week so I wore my new respirator. The facial hair hinders its performance but it helped a lot.

Couldn't find the wheels thread so here's to work thread. Installed 'metal' bash guard for the engine. The gods gave us a 50F+ day. Left work early and went on two decent rides today. Full sunshine, lots of pop wheelies

bought this truck last week . clean as a whistle but not perfect by a longshot. 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5 4cyl 5 speed - 95,000 miles . got suspicious of a couple of things; did a carfax - was in a front and rear end accident in 2001 and then in a minor front end in 2012 . I suspect in the 2001 accident the owner had full coverage and everything was made like new again . the body to frame support cross member for the radiator ( don't know what else to call it ) ,- cradle for the radiator is pretty rusty ; worst thing on the whole truck. there is a place on each end of it where the metal has corrosion rusted all the way thru and more corrosion all across it . some work was done around passenger door - I need to replace door rubber and investigate what was done and fix it . I was exploring the interior and the radio just slid right out. waiting on me on top of the radio was the live lizard I reported on in another thread . figured I'd never see him again - figured he was toast - but , lo and behold he showed up a couple of days later - and I managed to open the door slowly - he tried to go back towards the inside but I cut him off at the pass and he jumped off - back to the wild ; well, the front yard anyway . neighbor across the street sold me this 3 ton for $50. and thru in the small one for nothin. says his back is too bad , his mechanic days are over - metal strip on passenger side where the roof meets the side of the cab is missing .don't know if I can do anything about that ; maybe epoxy if I can find one . the spare is flat , dry rotted and the rim looks like toast . sprayed the hanger mechanism with wd40 - see if it comes off tomorrow . also need a good 4 way tire iron . looks like the transmission is leaking a bit ; bottom is covered in grease or - something good news is Frankenmech has a 93' and he's hip to these trucks and I already owe him a thanks for chiming in . can't think of anything else ATM . bought some cleaning supplies , wax etc. , a motorcraft thermostat , 5 gallons of Valvoline 5w20 high mileage oil , a filter wrench and ....... , bout wiped out my reserve till the 1st. oh, and a really great flashlight at O'reilly auto parts .for $35 , don't tell Frankenmech it was O'reilly's

It looks in good condition apart from the bits you pointed out. Worth fixing up.

Radar isn't magic. It's Maxwell. That's what I worked on today Unfortunately I am camera-less right now on account of crappy hardware on two counts. Otherwise I would post a picture of a $4,000 test widget half the size of my thumb.

See it's all blurry. RF filter. All I wanted to do is see what it felt like to have a $4,000 diamond (with no ring). Just tools of the trade on both counts

People seem to forget a macro lens is needed for close up pics.

No seriously, my photo taking things are all broken right now. Best apart about this week is when I left the office.

^ Oops sorry that's my bad. Went to store to buy cards for everyone and saw a really cool scooter card. Thought, there's no one that I can give this to that would get it? Checkout, bought seven cards. Should have been eight. Send the scooter card to myself, post marked n everything. Coal would be very nice thank you
