Have anyone seen the last video? The scooter cranks when jumped by a car but does not have power to jump itself off Man, the idle sounded good for a bit before it died. Can't be too much wrong with it. Bill

Midascooter employee told me I need a analog multimeter. And that they don't sell at autozone is that true?

Does it crank when you use the kick start? You don't need a battery to start a scooter with a kick start, but you should at least have a dead one in so juice from the stator has somewhere to go. I don't think the problem is the stator, I think it's something else, the stator problem is probably one of the symptoms. Also, since you were also having problems with the alarm system, which is typically wired into the ignition, reasonable deduction says that area might be the cause of the problem. I could see a short happening in the switch or somewhere about, that is causing it to kill the engine. Would explain why it sounds just fine when started, but then dies all of a sudden. Also explains why it wouldn't start again, and can explain why the alarm doesn't work. But then, maybe I'm completely way off here. Hopefully your new mechanic is reputable and can correctly diagnose the problem.

A digital multimeter is what you need. The dummy who told you they didn't have one for what you need to accomplish probably can't even use one. You are going to have to do a top end rebuild very soon. I hope you have some tools and finally come to your senses and stop paying someone to do the work. Ride on brother.

I got the scooter working. It takes a shot of starter fluid and throttle pumping to get it going. However I can not idle I adjusted idle and mixture screw to 2 1/2 turns but it wants to die after throttle relase. And it just dies down. Video is in next post

If it cranks . Is it not the stator? If it is hard to crank what could it be? It won't idle video in last clip

Man, like I said before, it sounds really good when it is running. Hey, did you put one of those "high performance" CDI's on this scoot? If so, swap back to the stock one as those make a scoot a lot harder to start. If not, I have no idea what to tell you at this point other than, it really seems to run well when it finally gets going. Bill

Yes it cranks with the kick start. However it won't idle. Can the valves be the problem?

No, try this... Take some black electrical tape or duct tape, or whatever tape, and wrap it around the base of your air filter and go up about half way, maybe even 3/4ths, then stop. I highly doubt the starter fluid was doing anything useful except temporarily blocking some air coming into the air filter. Makes me wonder if too much air is the problem. Try it and see. My Spree, before I put the BBK in, was like that, many other scooters are too. If it starts easily after doing that, then you'll know that you simply need the right air intake. If your lucky and that's the problem, then it would be a super easy cheap fix. You have nothing to lose by trying.
Edit: Also try the OPPOSITE, unscrew the air filter from the carb and try it with free air, maybe the filter is too small!! I doubt it, but these are free tests you can do yourself.

I think going to a bigger pilot jet is called for. That was a lot of starting fluid and you were obviously richening the mixture a lot to start it.
