here is a better idea of where im going for on my new subframe i cant weld it up just yet i was a bone head and bumped the frame while it was hanging from the rafters while i was draining the fuel tank so yep there is gas all over the place in the garage and being its a balmy 25 deg today it will take a while before it is safe to weld

well i got parts to fix my welder today and got that sorta finished i also got my clutch and reed block today gota love the super sexy vforce reeds and being no one around here would machine my case so the larger bore would fit i went to town with a big burring bit on my drill and hogged the case out so the bore fits in
i still have to hog out the ports on the cases but the bore fits down in and i now have to find some material to make a shim/basegasket with looks like i need about 2 to 2.5mm to get the ports to open all the way up when the crank is all the way down

Put a degree wheel on the crank and get the right durations, dont pay attention to the port bottoms..I think there is a thread Brent made on proper degree wheel setup/measuring..

Yeah!!! WoW! With a base the numbers are that low? You sure? I though Brent ran that jug but in A/C form.. Dont remember ever hearing that low of number on any port. Im not saying you are wrong. Guess i hope you are though in a way . Thats with 42mm stroke?

43 mm stroke i need to shim it up the piston comes out the top of the bore right about 1mm

I use flat washers under the jug to simulate a spacer, then check it,keep adding till it degrees out right..The head or jug may need to be decked to get the squish right..

I got : Exhaust : 178° Transfer : 124° Boost : 132° when installed on a 42mm crank with the AC kit using just the base gasket that came with the kit. I use flat washers under the jug to simulate a spacer, then check it,keep adding till it degrees out right..The head or jug may need to be decked to get the squish right.. Nice. That makes so much more sense than cutting spacers that don't work. Definitely a "why didn't I think of that".

thaks i didnt work on it as i didnt feel like cutting all those base gaskets
yeah i figgured i would have to have it decked to get the squish where i want it
i didnt have the degree wheel on i just used my caliper and the program josh had posted up over on si
it may be off a little bit as there are no crank bearings in right now just the old seals i got to finish off the case work too
just too much stuff going on and looks like im heading out of town for work for the rest of the week

i know its been a while work scouts and gun club has kept me busy got done early today so i can go to the mini chopper reveal for my kid he is in engineering class and they built 2 for the bike show this year a gas and an ele one of them has a side car too
well i figured my port timings again today i need to make a spacer that is 3.3mm tall and then i will proably have to take 1.7mm off the top of the cyl to get the squish where i need it to be
with just the spacer my intake duration is 133 deg and my exhaust is 186 so i will still need to rais the exhhaust about .8mm to get to 190 deg i might just go a full mm that will put me at 190.5 deg exhaust duration
so any one know where i can get a chunk of al 3.3 mm thick

Just looking at McMaster-Carr they sell :
.090" = 2.29mm 3/32" = 2.38mm 0.100" = 2.54mm 3mm 1/8" = 3.175mm.
Might wanna try to figure out which one would get you the closest to 3.3mm with a compressed gasket on each side.

S N A F U
well during my work i found a defect in the case that i was working on that i realy didnt care for
so i had ordered a new case 1/2 and got all the grinding done all over again than i decided heck what if i want more stroke in the future then im haveing to deal with more work on the case so i picked up the engine that mareames had forsale
now my big fubar without even thinking was when i mocked up my scretch i used my zuma engine without thinking and guess what the ears are spaced diffrent
then i went to slide the adly 12 in rim that i have on (it fits the out put shaft of the other engine i bought) and guess what the spline is diffrent the diffrent gear ratio was another of the reasons i bought the other engine
i went to start takeing things apart to see if i could swap the output shafts or have the gears swaped and the hose blows on my air compressor

I knew some stuff was different from Zuma to Chinese, but I had no idea the mounts were different.
