I love what your doing with this vespa, it's a very clean bike. No fuckin way that cruciform was like that after only 1600 miles though, or else something seriously wrong lol. Just replaced the one on my px and it has big miles on it and wasn't any worse than that.

I thought about BRAKING but I didnt want to have 10" lock up on me all the time. BGM makes a smaller cylinder size.
(it is a BGM)

Some progress: The PHBH is running! that carb has not seen gas in over 10 years when I bought it at a swap meet. There I was told it had already a couple of years. Lots of work, lots of cleaning. But my carb rebuilding skills are on point. Made some gaskets and mounted the intake. Currently missing a PH-carb style trumpet at the end so I can get a proper pod. I am currently running my wife's old shocks because we are going to an offroad rally and those things are just way softer. Will do great with my knobbies. Made some progress on the brakes today: You can see the headset is a "different" grey. Not sure if I want to have it powder coated in the same grey before or after the rally. my "guy" usually takes about two days. The mount for the reservoir is made from a piece of metal I picked up from the street the day my wife got her scoot. Kinda cool story to tell. Tomorrow I will lay the new brake line and do some fork maintenance before putting the headset on. To hide my scratches we are going full "vintage racer" with the yellow oval plates for a starting number. Combined with yellow headlight and some smaller yellow accents, will be dope! Trim is getting mounted hopefully tomorrow as well.

To move forward you need to move backwards: Oh and did i tell you I only have a week left to rebuild a smallframe Vespa, fix a seized 187cc from a friend, mount a new carb on another friends bike AND get mine ready for a rally... Shit's getting real.

So I mounted my former SI24 carb with a Polini venturi intake system on my friends 215 kitted Pinasco engine. That thing is the smoothest vespa to ride I have been on. Not violent. Just smooooth. Can't wait for the exhaust that niz76 has sent us for tomorrow. I think he will get a new bike back. As we speak, my headlight is drying with yellow paint on my Vespa. The fork and trim are on as well as the headset is ready to be wired up. Tomorrow it will be done, although I will pull my cylinder and rework the piston ports.
