Geoff Oh Geoff, you used to be so happy with a single scooter. Now the bug has finally bitten you big time. Where will it end?

Geoff Sounds like it could be a good deal! Local pickup seems like the only way to regularly find decent deals on eBay for bikes.

It's amazing how someone could be asking $750 for a no name scooter. It was probably $500 15 years ago. Here's an ex beach rental VIP 4T with 6,000 miles on the odo and mismatched panels for $700. Claims 50-52MPH and 100MPG. Beach rentals are notoriously beat. If you ever want to guarantee that what you buy has been mistreated, buy a beach rental (or any of my scoots). I don't mean ran WOT, that's what you have to do with the little 4T. I mean people jump them off of curbs and speed bumps and things like that, plus the mandatory rental burnouts and trying to do wheelies with 3HP. easternshore.craigslist.org/mcy/d/pocomoke-city-fun-red-sports-scooter/7226927145.html

I've been looking for a Kymco 2 stroke for a friend for awhile and found a mint ZX50 listed on Craigslist about 2 hours away. Setup a deal. Night before I'm about to go I see what looked like the same scooter listed on marketplace but had the detail "muffler has been cutoff, will need a new muffler."
Call the guy and he says that's a different scooter. I send a message to the facebook guy and he says yea, he just bought it 2 days ago from the other guy, but now that other guy is helping sell it to someone else tomorrow at 10am (that would be me). I guess he wanted to "broker" a deal to make them both a few dollars.
Give the "seller" another message and he says he will fix the muffler before I come get it...
I probably shouldn't have, but it was for a friend, so I go the next morning anyway. And he had "welded" the exhaust back on. And it looked like garbage and wasn't sealed. "I wanted to see if I could make it go faster" is what he said, even though it had already been going 45mph before then according to him.
Rear panels and seat also weren't installed back on the scooter. It was very frustrating. I still bought it but talked the price down quite a bit.

Aerox, we are currently living in a world where the truth is better than the fiction.

So this isn't scooter related but computer related. I was on CL looking for scooters when I saw this knoxville.craigslist.org/sys/d/dandridge-apple-macintosh-se/7262522923.htmlIs that a dot matrix printer? Hey he does have some great software from the last millennium, all on 3 1/2" floppies. It's the 2400 baud modem that is interesting, does anyone still have a land line? Maybe there is value as an antique. I mean no offense to anyone sitting in front of their Apple SE having their significant other yelling that they need the phone line so they can call Blockbuster to see if the movie they want to watch is there for their Betamax. I can say this because I do know what all of these things are and I have been there. Of course I only had a 1200 baud modem so I would have been jealous. By they way they want $525 for it. I'm sure they are taking a hit on this.

The floppies are probably unreadable now. I have a bunch of old computer equipment. I keep it around just for history examples.

It was up for sale last week at £740 but the buyer did not show??I suspect some wrangling going on,it,s got back up to £600,I am watching with interest,it makes my 1988 jog worth more than my 04 jog Geoff

The first was 5 minutes after placing the advert. The guy came and looked at it, left a deposit. I rode it to his house the next day. He never even tried to haggle the £700 asking price down. Perhaps I sold it too cheap? It's hard to value stuff when there are so few about. You do see some crazy prices for early peds on eBay sometimes. I can't believe anyone would pay them.
