I believe it and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It's too bad he butchered the paint job that they normally have.

"Legally a moped or scooter so no motorcycle license needed." Feel sorry for the guy that buys it and gets busted blasting around without being licenced and registered.

Not a doozie(well maybe its batteries) Well I was close by the place that was selling this, sorta piqued my interest. Being electric/stealthy and PINK, thought it would be a fun project. newlondon.craigslist.org/wad/5663978513.htmlTill I pulled the seat off.
Plus it was a little banged up, more than the CL pics showed

Plus it was a little banged up, more than the CL pics showed Here in FL the electric powered scoots or "DUI scooters" are sought after and go for similar prices as gas scoots. They're considered bicycles and one of the only transportation options for folks with no driver license- well besides an actual bicycle. ;P Could probably replace that battery bank for around $200 or less maybe and tear up the streets at a blazing 18mph!!

If I was able to find a brand & model so I could researched it online, I might of taken a chance. researched it a bit They're pretty generic much like our beloved exploding dinosaur juice powered China scoots. They pretty much all use whatever batteries you can stuff in there along with a generic controller and 500watt hub motor. Of course the body on that one is the typical "B09" style panels. If you decide to take a 2nd look at it and are thinking about playing around with it (that really is a dirt cheap price) I could help you out with choosing parts or any info or whatever as I used to play around with these and have built and modified a few...

My little brain wonders why the batteries went "Chernobyl" in the first place.

Too powerful of a battery charger (too many amps) will do that. I use a 2 amp charger for my scoots.
Another possibility is the wrong type of charger. There are chargers for gel batteries only. If a regular charger is hooked to a gel battery - problems. If a gel charger is hooked to regular battery - problems.

I've never had to use a battery charger on any of my scoots. I have had the same battery I bought brand new from eBay for about 8 months now and it works everytime. I guess the winter will tell the tale

I guess the winter will tell the tale Well the scooter in question is a all electric scooter, so at some point the batter will need to be recharged. (no Mr Fusion option)
