I have the 100cc big bore kit ,racing cam, racing CDI, ngk plug, red hot coil wire, racing variator and a cvk 18mm carberator with the #85 main jet, I had recently put a different head on it with the bigger valves, it seemed to be faster on the take off and top speed was faster before I installed the head with the bigger valves, should I go with a bigger main jet ?? I am lost? Please help.

I am lost? Please help. The head is either lowering compression or slowing the air thru the venturi. I had this problem when I installed a 150 intake and carb on my 50mm BBK. I moved the fuel needle to the most rich position and it solved the issues. Now I have an actual 23mm big valve head and I'm experiencing it again. Just slightly too lean so I will probably be upsetting soon. That might be your answer.

Well ive hit 6k with my 100cc bbk and still going strong. It took alot of trial and error and the biggest problem ive hed is the big valve head with the 23mm intake my opintion is there crap....Ive had 3 big valve heads with the 21.5mm intake and here great ive been ordering from scrappydog there head is great its expensive at 175 bucks but when you buy cheap china parts 3 or 4 times youll wish you did. Ive been buying used scooters here in town where i live mainly ones that dont run or have problems the owner cant figure out then i fix them. I dont really sellem ive got 8 now all working great ive installed 100cc bbk with quality parts from scrappy and most have got 2 to 3k already on them so the set up im using is working great. 2 of them ive installed the hoca 52mm set up and ill update how there doing soon.

Wife and i are planning an upgrade to a "100cc" kit, and i'd like to make sure it's solid. humanshield do you have a full detailed build thread including valve and seat lapping, port matching, etc? The more detailed, the better. I don't want this scoot to fall flat on its face, pretty sure my wife would kill me especially for how much i've persuaded her to upgrade. She's nervous that its a traffic hazard in its stock state, which is why she's finally considering the upgrade. Thanks in advance!

She will be able to ride with the comfort of reliability and a huge gain in speed from the stock 39mm piston.

Hey guys new to the forum not new to scoots but i recently did a 50mm kit on my tao tao due to the fact i bought it and it and it started getting a lot of blow buy past the rings even at idle so i replaced it with a gilxal kit.Its been only a couple days since i did the swap and i am seeing no real issues as of yet other then i had to delete the emissions system on the head for it to properly function. i was unaware of the reliability issue between the 46mm and the 50mm bbk so im interested to see what happens. ill post an update when it properly jetted. and can be ridden without running way too lean.

So yesterday the life of my QMB139 ended. The stator had burnt up first thing in the morning. Tried to remove the flywheel and marred it up, so I removed the puller (the kind that threads into the holes then the shaft presses on the crank). When the puller came off, I saw death in the form of a mushroomed crank shaft. The end was pushed open from the puller. I may have used the wrong end piece, but oh well. Over 10,000 miles on that motor, it did me well.
After a trip to the scrap yard (motorcycle/scoot specific) I find another long case 139QMB with maybe 100 miles on it. I pulled the motor, they made me give back the muffler but I got to keep the Shinko rear tire/rim combo. $40 total, tax free. While I did the top-end swap I was so surprised on the cleanliness of everything. I replaced the gears with my 49/17 from stock. Also, the 130/70-10 tire that was on is WAY WAY WAY wider than my 140... huh? I think that 10" rim is too wide. The tire actually barely rubs my case. I swapped my old 140/70-12 tire/rim on there. It fired up first try.
Here's to another 50mm build, and another 10,000 miles!

10,000 miles I have about 5,000 miles on my 50mm kit now and it still runs like new. Truth Be Told....all else equal...I can WALK the 47mm kitted scoots with ease. The 50mm kit just simply provides more torque. Sorry to hear about your end of life motor but hey....10,000miles is not bad!

Not much to be improved on. I got my 50mm kit from Scorpion parts but I can't guarantee he is still selling the same parts so YMMV. If you get a decent quality kit and your motor is healthy (and she's not a racing beast) it "should" last a long time. I do HIGHLY recommend you install an A9 cam with the 50mm kit because the kit alone raises the compression very high and the A9 cam beautifully brings the dynamic compression back down to reasonable levels AND brings the kit to life. In fact, the CAM will add as almost as much gain as the 50mm kit itself! (done right) WIN WIN

So I installed a 52mm top end a couple thousand miles ago. Its definitely more powerful than the 50mm. We will see how this thing holds up under my crazy ass.

With a couple thousand miles, you doing better with the 52 kit than some with the 50 kit. Shows you know what you're doing Yeah, I would fully expect the 52 kit to walk from a 50mm kit....displacement is king. Even when considering forced induction because all other things proportionally equal....a 5000cc turbo engine will kill a 2000cc turbo engine.
