Well, I tought, that the brand new, 450€ 139qmb engine, was 80cc .... I was wrong. It is 72cc, with longer CVT. I brought that and had to do the engine swap, all by myself @ the motoshop, that I use, when I have to buy parts - The Starmoto OÜ. So at 12th august, I did the engine swap. Took old engine off the frame and then the first thing I noticed, was the wheel shaft. This engine had a wheel shaft for rear disc brake, and I did not have the adapter or a wheel, with disc brake. That thing did not stop me @ that time. I took the gearbox apart (both engines) and swapped the shaft with the gears around. Then the time was pushing me little bit, because I had to go to my dayjob. The Engine was swapped, wireing connected, but starter was just spinning around. So I left the scoot at the Starmoto workshop and rushed to work. Next morning I went back and found the problem - the scoot´s wires and engine wires, where little bit off - red went to green and green to red. I checked all connections and swapped the wires where needed. Got the scoot running. Then I tought that was a WIN for me. Took a test derive on the shop´s territory. All sounded fine, until I had to use brakes. Front worked fine, but after engine swap, I did not have rear brakes. Tried to swap the cabel, for same lenght one and also longer one. No luck. So I did not get my rear brakes to work and drove off, with only front brakes. The weather also went bad and the rain came down on me - Not Good, wen you have only front brakes.

I drove about 1 week, with that engine, and then the speedo cable broke again. Also scoot died few times - on the way to work and then after work, when I was riding home. I opened the oil filling thingy and the stick was dry. I took a caution and drove slow to home and next day to garage. There I opened the oil plug to get oil out of the engine - there was few trops . I had a 1L 10W40 engine oil at garage. I filled up engine with that oil an now there is no problem.

That was a lucky escape. I guess you never know with a new engine

Hey, 90GTVert . Because, aster the engine swap, the chargeing system is faulty, I had to use the kickstart, to start the scoot. Few days ago, I started my drive from home to work. When I used the kickstart, then the lever broke and did took small part of the CVT cover with him Right now I take the battery off my scoot, after every ride and take it to warm room and put the battery tender on it over night time. The new engine was brought 12.august 2019. I took some pictures, after that failure and send these to the motoshop, that I use to buy parts for my Baotian scoot. They said in the answer, that come, I will give you new CVT cover. So yesterday I went to that motoshop and they gave me that new CVT cover for free (the price was 35€ if I had to buy it). The new cover is made from the same light aluminium compound, like the old one. So I think That problem will rise again, some time. Do you have any ideas, how to prevent that lever from snaping again.

My plan has always been to use the kick start as little as possible with the 139QMB. It's a common failure. One thing I've seen that will break covers is installing the lever too high. Try to keep it roughly parallel to the ground so you don't get such a long stroke when kicking.

Wich way is the simple and safer too, installing the large spring of the kickstarter, to the other side of the CVT cover? Once I have allready injured myself, trying to place that spring.

The kick start spring is difficult (rofl)you need to over come it,s power,I clamp the cover down and use leather gloves and wire to pull the spring back and down,it helps to have a buddy around.

I have not posted a long time here, about my 4-Stroke 72cc scoot. But Now Im fixing that, unfortunately Bad news for me again. Stuff are broken again. On my way to home, I was accelerating and something happened. 1st I tought, that belt broke. So I called a friend, who has big Van, he came to my rescue and I got to work in time. Now, I just checked the variator on my bike. I thought, that the belt broke, but I was wrong. I opened tha cover and under it, I saw, that variator plate was in peaces. and half of it almost broke the clutch too. Some pics, what happened:

It has been long time again, when I have not posted something about my project. Well, I have been busy, with work and stuff. The broken variator parts are now replaced, with original stuff and so far its holding up fine. I do have a electrical issue (short circuit) somewhere. I need to find it, when I will also do my 2021 spring maintenance to my scoot.
I also have a second engine block, what Im gonna use to build an 90cc engine for my scoot. But That plan is on stand still also for a long time now.

Today I brought some stuff for my scoot. Motul 5000 (10W40) 4T engine oil, 2 sets of spark plugs (NGK C6HSA) and 2 729-17.7-30 variator belts. Right now, Im using this thing, to start my scoot, because of the short circuit problem.

I think you need to get that charging problem sorted. It's been a long time now. If you get a multimeter, it shouldn't be too hard to diagnose.

I thinik I will do that, when I change the oil, belt and spark plug. I beleve there is a wire broken, against a frame maybe. I need to check all the wires. I even have a voltmeter gauge on my scoot. When lights are off, then it shows 14-16 Volts and when I turn on the lights and high beam 12 volts. The last engine, that the scoot had, was with 10" wheel. This new engine, that I swapped, I beleve last year or so, is for 12" rear wheel. Last engine had also some starting issues. Then I took the stator and magneto apart for cleaning and after the cleanup, it was all fine. Im planing to do the same thing now.
