Hi scootersam I,m in the north west stuck between the scousers and the mancs'once you get used to the strange English this really is the most civil scooter forum I,ve found.Do you know if he celts still burn caravans (sorry milly) geoff Hi Geoff funnily enough I knew the leader of the Wales Free Army very well and pop round his son's and daughter's to see how they are keeping. I thinks most scousers live in N.Wales and Brummies in Powys.

Sorry about that Senna1Rossi,I didn,t think of the wider view,I,ll translate into the Queens English.I live in the north west of England near a town Called Wigan it,s just about halfway between Liverpool(scoucers) and Manchester(mancs). The rest was just jokey stuff that we Brits call "banter"and it would take a history lesson to explain. Most of us have a regional accent, the last time I was on your side of the pond most people guessed I was Icelandic untill I used my posh voice and managed to get a beer .And I,m now a little scared of Milly geoff

There are many regional accents in different parts of the UK. Some of them I think our American cousin's might have trouble understanding. Lol

I watched some British TV and I had to really concentrate on what some say. I got kind of used to even the strong accents over time. Some of the sayings/slang that I haven't heard in the US stuck with me. "Can't be bothered" is the one I use the most. Maybe others say it in the US, but I don't hear it and it sounds more like what I'm trying to convey than any other word combination I could think of. OK, I'll bugger off now and find a fit bird to snog. Not really, I just wanted to say that.

There's a couple of you guys on here that like to drive on the wrong side of the road and spell tire wrong. At least we can pronounce aluminium correctly. I live on the South coast. Haha, I love this bit of British trivia! Aluminium...anyone can pronounce that word. Aluminum...anyone can pronounce that as well. Which word is correct? According to British history, as told by Cambridge University scholars: The correct word, by proper Latin language rules is Aluminum, not Aluminium. The short story: The compound was invented by a Brit and properly named Aluminum. However, the British Scientific Press, longing for a breakthrough to expound about, deemed the name not sexy enough in print. Thus the modified British version of the real scientific word. Aluminum! It makes for a great bar bet!

Wigan it,s just about halfway between Liverpool (scoucers) and Manchester (mancs). Here in Thailand, the Premier League is tops! Actually, all of South East Asia. We are lucky enough to see nearly every Premier League game. Bundasliga and La Liga top matches also. We are family of split allegiance. The two eldest, long time Reds fanatics...the younger gen are ManUniacs. You? Three Sisters must be fun!!
