"Oldgeeks Orphanage for Scooters"
"Oldgeeks Scooter Rehabilitation Center" (you know, for when scooters get into bad habits, like going too slow).
By the way, plenty of room to hoard scooter parts!

Scooter Recruiter The Geekatorium
If it were on the second floor, you could have called it Geek Peak.
I think you need a directory sign in there. 1st Floor : Addiction, 2nd Floor : Enabling

I have been trying to finish up some stuff at the new place during this Tropical Storm we are having. I noticed this pair came in to escape the torrential downpour going on outside. crazy looking pair of stick bugs!

What would be best to paint the work benches with? I would like something durable and something able to withstand gas and oil.

Whatever you have laying around! It'll soon be cluttered with crap so the bench is no longer visible!!

I don't think you should paint the workbenches. The paint will just flake off the first time move a part around. Find some cheap linoleum it might hold up longer.

Yes, in my machine shop, I made all of the work benches myself and, I did just that. I used those 12" x 12" squares you can get, cheap, and covered all of them. They held up great for over 5 years and, if you do need to redo them, you can just apply the new stuff over the old without removal. Bill

Cost me around $12 to do two 4' x 8' benches. Looks great Thanks!

That way, say you drop something on the bench and rip/cut a tile...just peel it off..and replace...good to go. When you can, show us some photos...I'll bet they look great. Bill

One more day and I will have all my stuff moved to the new shop. I am exhausted, I have been working on this stuff for a week or so now all by myself. My buddy who would normally help me is out with a bad back. Here is how it looked earlier today, just after I got the vinyl squares put on the benches. Right now the whole floor is filled up with scooters. I have a rickety lift to put some of the project scoots on the upper deck, but it requires 2 people to handle it without dumping everything. Hopefully I can get some help to take care of it tomorrow. Speaking of the lift, I stupidly dumped the Derbi off of the lift today while trying to move it. It fell from about a foot high onto its left side. Surprisingly nothing broke that I have found, but it got scratched pretty bad from hitting the cement driveway. Oh well now it matches the rest on my krap.
