I'm tinkering around with my god forsaken tao tao atm 50 today and I put my center stand up, and vola! oil around my center stand. Now this COULD be because I had my engine in pieces yet again to chase down this leak or it COULD be the drain plug. There was some oil around it, though it seemed tight enough. On the other side where the oil filter plug is, the bolt wasn't as tight. Could this be the problem? maybe. oh. and I took of my variaitor cover and this was rolling around in it: UGH! on the upside, I do have a lead on a 76 Mobylette. I'm trading some stuff for it. Though I do hear French mopeds are just as big of a headache as Chinese scooters. Vive la différence

The next time the drain plug is out, make sure there's a soft washer under it. Aluminum or copper. You can find them at auto parts stores if needed. You could also check the o-ring on the plug with the screen behind it. Make sure it's there and not flattened out or torn or anything. You can probably get one in an o-ring assortment or maybe a parts store or hardware store.

It's possible that is oil that was there from the previous oil leak. We can hope right?
I think that piece of metal came off the Bendix. It's a dust shield I believe.
But it also vaguely resembles a destroyed roller.

I'm pretty sure it's from the bendix. I ordered a new one.

I'm pretty sure it's from the bendix. I ordered a new one. I think you're right. Are you able to remove the variator and check the condition of the rollers while you have it all apart?

I have a impact wrench. The good old harbor freight electric one.
I've changed out the rollers a few times.
The ones I have in now aren't too old so they should be ok.
