Messing around with the performance Coil (Thank you jareeb) and found it makes a better output than a T.V. Flyback transformer Interesting thing is it works best at 60Khz very small core I would think it would be better with an iron core but I guess it depends on the out put of the CDI. At just 12V its output is good. I tried 24V and it started to smoke so I stopped don't want to fry it. Insulation Failure from corona discharge a little UV exposure won't kill. And decided to mess around with a large ferite Transformer at about 40KHZ. Here is the 555 timers that perished due to HV spikes through the MOSFET gate.

Watching the first vid,,does that mean the plug wire insulation sux for OEM stuff,or are you "shooting nitrous" to it???

Really nice insulation in the first video. Wow, I guess the dielectric strength was not high enough? I wonder if it does that on a scooter if a new ground path shows up somewhere between the coil and the plug? Be interesting to test that on a scooter at night. (In the dark)
Nice vids.

I am way over shooting the current this was designed for also the higher Frequency adds more voltage I am just having some fun Really nice insulation in the first video. Be interesting to test that on a scooter at night. (In the dark) Nice vids. Bill I don't know if the voltage is this high on a scoot CDI but if you disconnect the plug and stick the insulation close to the frame it might jump through the crappy HV wire but because the plug gap is so small it will actually short before the voltage can rise high enough to break the insulation so I suppose it gets the job done. I am just messing around while I wait for parts I might build a Tesla coil that will kill some time. I have a couple Half bridge drivers coming for the PCDI inverter if I where to use one of those for this purpose it would output twice the voltage its like if a 555 timer was a 4T the Half bridge driver would be the 2T.

At the beginning of this video the input is 12 Volts then I switch it to 24 Volts and this is an old Line Out Put Transformer from a T.V.

Meanwhile, your neighbors are like: "What the Hell is wrong with the TV again?"
Ha ha. Very nice. I like how when you hold the one lead above the other, the air is ionized and the spark really reaches up and climbs like a Jacobs ladder.

I don't have the stuff to build a good Tesla coil so I added audio modulation to the flyback lol it sounds crappy from RF interference but here it is.

I just want to see the video of you touching that with your tongue

Remind me to never let you near my neon transformer stuff and definitely not near the bombarder.

Very nice! Is that a one turn primary on there? I'll bet that would look really cool with the lights out.
