i got a bando ignition coil in the bbk package for my triton. i was putting in a new throttle cable and had the belly pan off so a good time to install the coil. i had to remove the floor pan to get to at the philips head screw holding the old coil in.. the triton coil has 2 wires leading to spade terminals on the coil, the bando has only one spade terminal and is not going to fit the triton coil mount point. i was thinking of hose clamping the bando to the frame, then running the ground lead to 1 of the 2 mounting hole on the bando..right solution?

I just bolted my aftermarket coils to the frame where the stocker was. One's a Bando, one's an SS. Regardless, if it wont fit I'd bolt it to the frame somewhere and still attach the ground wire where it's bolted on. It should be fine the way you mention as well.

That's what mine looks like too. I relocated it on T2. Even for a scoot with fairings, it would be easier to get to. You don't need to weld nuts to the frame like that, Just nuts and bolts would work. No need to pull off more than the seat to remove it.

I like that idea! It sucks to have to unbolt my whole floor (underbelly) to get to the two bolts holding the coil.

Rather than welding it all up, just use spacers, nuts, and bolts. You'll probably have to take the seat out that way still without the nuts welded into place, but it beats removing half the scoot to reach the coil. Could try some JB Weld.

Should work. Glad to see you doubling up on the clamps.

Nice. If you were to postion the hose clamps with screws aimed forward, you might be able to do a coil swap right through the little access panel in front of the seat? ;D

that's a possibility but i carry an onboard skocket set.. + @ 66 i don't enjoy all that bending over, easier and less painful to remove the seat., there is "a method to my madness".

Welcome to the forum. Yes/No = No. If your coil is not working quite right then yes. Under extreme conditions, like a highly tuned engine, maybe.
