I can tell you how to do it because I struggled until I found out the hack. Number one to compress it in order to install the nut just use your feet stand up get the slot aligned use your feet to twist and make sure you thread the nut on a couple of turns before you use an impact to Titan assuming you have air tools.
But that's only part one of the issue the question here is how do you get the belt on because it's so stiff you can't use your hands to pull it apart and tugging and pulling with the belt down that does not work how do I know because I tried I'm a big guy I'm a strong person and all I did was get frustrated and tired tugging.
So here's the hack and I take no credit for it because I saw somebody on a YouTube video show how to do this.
You want to take two socket extensions whether it's a quarter drive or 3/8 drive half inch drive or two half inch drives that's what you need to use. And you're going to put one of the 8-in to 10 inch socket extensions on the top half of the clutch where the belt would go and the other on the bottom. You want to rest it on a flat surface on the ground and you want to grab the top and bottom outer edges of the socket drives with your hands and you want to push and pull it the same time. That clutch will spread apart and one of the socket drives if you're using a quarter drive and that one will stay in the bottom and we'll get wedged in first the half inch drive or 3/8 drive will slide right out. So now you're left with the clutch housing which is spread apart and being pried open by the one socket drive you slide. You take your belt it will only go around half of the clutch and you push down with your thumbs as low as you can seat it you slide it onto the axle shaft whatever the technical name is and you loop the front of the belt around the front drive. You now have sufficient room to button up the front drive with a rollers are and put the nut on and tighten it down and once that's done you can remove and just pull down the rear quarter or 3/8 drive that's wedged in and you're all set problem solved just push the clutch all the way in at this point put the cover on put your nut on tighten it down and that's all you need to do it is literally 10 seconds using this technique to spread apart the clutch with a 1500 RPM contrast spring brand new so it's tight as hell. And once you do it once you'll be able to swap out any heavy contrast spring in seconds and not have any struggling or problems.
