I miss beautiful girls giving me their number. It used to be: "Hey, you remind me a lot of Burt Reynolds".
Then, as I was losing my hair it was: "Hey you look exactly like Gerald Mcranney" (Major Dad)
Now it's: "Hey, you remind me of my Dad."

I know what you mean there, too! Anyway....I'm in the vicinity of Peoria. Not originally. But I've been here very nearly thirty years now. Went to school in that area of IL...I miss Avanti's Bradley University, perhaps? I'm quite fond of Avanti's as well. However La Gondola seems to offer a better bucket of spaghetti w/garlic bread and torpedo sandwich. So they actually get more of my business. |

Bill Some years back I was on friendly small talk terms with a girl at work. And she wasn't all that young. I'd have figured she was approaching thirty. One day I chatted with her and then moved on. As I did, I heard her say to one of the other girls, "Now that guy is cool!..........Wouldn't it be great to have a dad like that?" It was real nice. But it hurt like hell too. I don't flirt with girls that young anymore. |
