Might try a breaker bar and a spanner wrench before you resort to an impact wrench, cheaper option and you can carry it on your scooter with a spare belt in case you need to change it.

If you are cruising at 45+ with 50cc's, why bother putting in the 100cc kit. If......

I'm not sure what headlight bulb your scoot uses. If you can figure out the style, or post a pic of the bulb for someone to ID, we may be of more help. There are higher watt or better designed bulbs in most styles though. Lots of them on eBay. You just have to be careful using much higher watt bulbs as they may start to melt the headlight housing. Your back tire is spinning because your idle is set too high and the clutch is engaging. Idle should be around the 1500RPM range, I have mine set at 1600. Leave your CDI alone, it's fine.

I agree to try setting the idle speed first. The tire moving a bit is normal, but you don't want the engine revs getting higher and higher as the wheel accelerates at an idle setting.
Good news on the bulb. TONS of choices for H4 bulbs. Even moving to a 45W version may make a big difference. Gotta be careful upping the wattage too much though, as the higher powered stuff runs hotter. I have a 60/65W Silverstar H4 in my TaoTao and it's really bright... but it's also melting my headlight housing. Another option would be keeping 35W, but doing some rewiring so both illuminate with hi and lo beams. I did that to my Roketa and was quite pleased with the result.

Upgrade away if you'd like. You can swap it back out easily enough if it doesn't work well. Some report great results, some mediocre.

I'd be willing to bet the only difference between a lot of those orange boxes and a stock CDI is the color ")
