I had a local shop do it. Didn't cost much. But it was required to get everything setup correctly. Piston flush w/ exhaust floor, squish etc. Better to get the short one. I think the tall my be for a 48mm stroke. While your ordering from Carlos get yourself extra gaskets he has them for cheap, like $1.

I was thinking the 42 stroke was for the 77mm short cylinder 43.5 might be able to be used with either one and 45 stroke is for the 78.5mm tall cylinder.

Tall and regular can work, but I've had pretty good results from standard cylinders with 45mm stroke. Other than with a 48mm stroke, the Hoca regular was a better fit than the tall version. That thing is stored away unless I ever manage to get another 48mm crank. I'm not sure if it will be universally that tall or regular is better, since you're dealing with different kits. Even dealing with Autotech, I know that the 70cc I got one time was not necessarily the same one I'd get the next time. This time when I ordered a 54mm kit from him, I got a stock style head instead of squish. These things are like a box of chocolates.

That makes me a little worried, how was the quality of the 54mm cylinder this time brent Quality looks like I'd expect from Carlos. No complaint there. I don't think he'll send you junk, but I guess these guys have to source from wherever they can sometimes so consistency isn't going to be the same as the huge brands.

I've got a short case 103cc built I'd be willing to get rid of. It's got the Hoca cylinder and the cases and cylinder have been ported. There's a build thread here for it somewhere. It's in a Venice.

How much you asking for it? I hadn't thought of it really. It's in a scooter I'll never register and was just something I wanted to try. It's got gobs of torque and lifts the front easy. Maybe it has 25 neighborhood miles. Make me an offer. Surely it will be less than buying new. I can pull it apart if you don't want the case. Right now it's set up with a hoca TD, 21mm del carb and S6 variator. 10.13 final drive. Price will depend on what all you want. PM me if you like. You can see the build under my threads 2Ts Retro.

Clear coat helps keeping the engine clean. With a smooth surface dirt and grease have a harder time sticking and wiping it off is way easier.

I run the 43.5 on a 54mm tall cylinder. I might have used one baseptic gasket under cylinder but nothing crazy. Iirc the squish was .85 mm. Lots of torque keeps up with my LC 70 till about 40 mph
