Sounds like a nice system, looks good too.
My son used to do FPS, warcraft, CS, etc on a PC. He built his own systems and also built systems for other players. He played CS and CSS at the international level. He had to give it up when he could no longer find players in the US to play with, he was too good and was vote-kicked. I would think people would have enjoyed learning from a pro.... His ping to Europe and the major players was too long to play effectively.

Looks like a decent rig!
I'm running an older i7 4790k, 16gb ram, ASUS gtx970, 28" AOC monitor and a pile of older 1 and 2TB HDDs really need to chuck an SSD in it one of these days!

The last game I played a lot on PC was Starcraft II and before that F.E.A.R.. SC2 was released in 2010 and F.E.A.R. was 2005, so in the last 10 years my PC gaming has been few and far between aside from some browser games like Star Colony. FPS stuff on PC always had way more issues with cheating than console, at least when I used to play. I also had a large group of friends on Xbox Live to play with so that was a big factor. Sold my Xbox a few years ago though. My PC was upgraded too long ago for video editing. My old one just couldn't handle editing long HD vids so I built a new one. It's slow and outdated now, but still does it's job for photo and video editing. AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3GHz 6 Core 8GB RAM Nvidia GTX 460 All overclocked. I don't usually go past 4GHz for the processor.

Yeah, cheating was what people in the US thought my son was doing so they vote-kicked him off servers when all he wanted to do was practice. They figured he was just impersonating one of the world's best players. Impersonation is one of the problems with online gaming along with running cheat software. For tournaments they verified each computer so that cheat software couldn't be used. If I remember right he was #2 in CSS and just a few less in CS. I offered to pay his way to Europe but he had too many friends here. In Europe they paid the good people to play and to endorse PC products. There were not many paid players over here.
I used to run his hand-me-down computers which were a waste for just cruising the net. I run old junkers now. I have two of the following, both have a 120GB SSD for the OS: Intel core2 duo CPU, E7500 @ 2.93GHz, 4GB ram, 64 bit W-7, some old NVIDIA GeForce card.
I don't have huge numbers of files. I keep what files I have on a 1TB NAS.

When I was playing FPS on PC, a lot of the cheats were very clear. F.E.A.R. would let you watch other players in their view while you waited to respawn. I saw entirely too many people that were seeing through walls and with aimbots that constantly turned to face the nearest target. No question that they were cheating and in a way that a fair player had no chance against.
My biggest complaint with lots of time on Call of Duty on Xbox Live was that people liked to camp... just sit somewhere and wait for people to pass by... or they'd figure out how to trap teams in their spawn point at times so you respawn and get shot immediately. BS, but not actually doing anything the rest of the players couldn't choose to do like the PC hacks. There were glitches in some games where people could get out of a map and walk around, so you couldn't see them but they could shoot you. Again bull, but something in the game that anyone who knew how could do at least.

Ahhh yes I remember now! Fatal1ty was the player my son used to examine, test, and spec equipment for. Then he endorsed it, -and got paid. They knew each other and my son was one of the people Fatal1ty didn't want to play in certain games... hehehe They had fun I really wish my son would have tried Europe for a few years. He had my hand eye coordination. I never 'aim' with the sights at big targets, say 3" at 30'. I just point and shoot. I don't even have to look when my mind sees the target location. I can shoot two pistols at once and offered to teach my son how. I didn't play PC or console shooter games because I could -NOT- shoot through walls, couches, and doors when I knew damn well the bullet would have penetrated and killed. It wasn't realistic and pissed me off. I did teach him how to put all five rounds with a rifle through the same hole, -using the sights of course. With a 50 point smallbore rifle target I could shoot a score of 30 or more, (averaged 36) from the hip with a bolt action rifle. Now with my ET I don't do much target shooting, but don't come in my house when I have a pistol in hand... BTW- Hollywood 'shootouts' piss me off too... Unlimited ammo, bullets don't penetrate, etc, etc. Then there are things like Top Gun where the final 'battle' would have been totally lopsided the other way. The USSR had thrust vectoring air to air missiles, that would turn.....

Nice rig. I've been wanting to upgrade mine lately. I could use more power for video editing. I'd really like something all new, but that's expensive. I may just put in 8 gigs more RAM to get to 16. I noticed that clearing the RAM while editing makes it perform better briefly, so I think that's telling me I need more.
