So yesterday I was bored and doing my usual CL surfing and found this:
Its a 2011 Super 8 2t with 13,000 KM on it for $50. The front end and handle bars were damaged by a PO. The owner said it stopped running. Its not seized because the kick starter moves something there just isn't any compression. Who knows what the problem is but its pretty beat on the front end:
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it but it is a big scooter, 14" wheels and 53" wheel base I'm sure that it is a stable scoot. I have read some threads on here and found that its big problem is a 15:1 final drive. None of the threads seemed to find replacement gears and some of the smartest people on here were looking.
The handlebars are welded back badly, not sure if the triple tree is okay. It looks like it has a stock Super 9 muffler on it. I read the thread where Sai put a Super 9 LC top end on hers but couldn't get it over 50mph. I also followed DRC174's thread on a Super 8. I currently have enough projects so its under a tarp next to the garage.

Tiny, I have found that a lot of the other scooter forums have people that are a lot on the pompous side. I tend to not post so that I van stay out of their way, because they are right and everyone else is wrong. Just ask them.

I'm sure the gears exist some place. Maybe I'll get into this just to see.

I finally got he keys for mine so it will fire up this weekend and I can report back where we are at in terms of top speed. That said, I think 50-55 is where I would like to be at anyway, but with proper measuremements of the gears I am sure we can find something

There was a Super 9 LC in great shape on CL for $600 but they wouldn't respond to me, it was probably sold.
Edit: I just saw it again from a different buyer for $1200.
