Went with this adjustable shock. It adjusts by tightening the spring, and seems to have a lot of playing room as far as that goes. It was easier to install than I thought it would be. The only thing I had to remove to get to it was the seat. Very little playing room with the slightly wider spring. With no adjustments made I had only a couple bumps that I felt a tap from. I kept bracing for it , but the shock was doing pretty well. I adjusted the spring in about 10mm, and will try for a test if it isn't raining tommorow. I've not had any experience with these things, so not sure how much I should go, or how to take advantage of its features.

When you turn the adjusters you compress the spring. That adds what is called "preload" Any spring will get stiffer as it compresses. The adjusters allow you to stiffen the spring without shortening the shock. Get someone large to bounce on it as you turn the shock adjusters a half turn at a time each. Repeat as necessary.

Thanks Fox, duh, what a novel idea, ask for help, LOL. I'm terrible at that I suppose I should have researched this before buying, but I didn't like riding the way it was. Now, I need to find out how it works and maintenance of the shock. I like that it doesn't squeek when I sit on it. And I can relax when I see a rail road track or manhole cover in the road. So yup, if I put a bigger fella on it and it doesn't hit, I should be good. Update: adjusted 18mm, guys got 100lbs on me so it should be good to go :thumb:

Yes the Roadrunner is getting there. Someone called her cute the other day, may have to do something about that I got the shock on Ebay, $90, which isn't bad compared to some of the adjustable ones. This one is 13" or 330mm eye to eye. If I had a wider tire it wouldn't have fit. I have the 3.5 x 10" tires. 5 days from order to arrival. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220543583004&ssPageName=STRK

Ok thanks for the info but looking at it I don't think it will fit mine or the misses new scoot.

When I searched I went with, scooter shock 13" , or scooter shock 330mm...I was able to measure with a tape measure from underneath, center of bolt to center of bolt.
