They do sound good but when driving they are quite annoying.

Is that a Malossi adjustable CDI that I see?

It's actually top performance, I have one of the malossi ones and they give about 4-5 deg of retard. I'll graph this one and see what it gives.

Has anyone else found malossi straight cut gears to be noisy! I'm using 75/90 Mobil1. I can hear them over my pipe. I've changed the fluid and nothing abnormal was in there. I guess just the straight cut...

ryan_ottI have zero experience with gears but I have read many times that the Malossi gears are louder then stock, kinda sound like a turbo they said. Not sure how a turbo sounds though. But if you say you can hear them over your pipe then they must be really noisy. You got a video of it?

I've read that they are loud, but I don't hear them myself. Maybe because my pipe and open filter? Silly to ask you, but did you get the spacing correct when you pressed the gears?

It's not ear piercing loud but it's noticeable louder then stock.

Is that the same stuff that was in the older "break in" oil?

Don't worry. It's normal straight cut gears to be noisy. This is pretty common in car racing when they use those gears.
