The one thing we all must remember. Helmets will protect your head but will not protect your neck. Just to be alive after that accident he is lucky. I wonder what injuries he received from the accident.

ouch hmmm i wonder if the fact that it was a female around the young mans age driving the suv where is mind was
the kid is very lucky to be alive
here in wi our only law is under 18 and if you have your temps you have to wear a helmet

here in MI you don't need a helment on a Scooter unless you are under 18 and you didn't use to have to have one on Motorcyles either but now you do. I don't wear a helment because they seem to get to hot. If I find a nice Skull cap helment I will start wearing it.

If the only reason you don't wear a helmet is because they're hot, get a better full face. I have rode in over 100 degrees with my full face on and it's cooler than no helmet. It's best if you get a smoked visor, seems to stay even cooler. Opening up the visor just feels like air from an oven hitting you in the face after being in the full face when it's really hot out. Keeps you a lot warmer in the winter too. I can't imagine riding on the really cold nights without one.

Wearing a helmet is just common sense and I agree with Brent. My wife and I wear our full face helmets all the time and we have never got hot. Last week it was 98 here and with the helmets on the air flows around your head and keeps you cool.
