I picked up an H3 LED off of ebay for about $5.50 shipped when I saw the price cut. I've wanted to try one for some time now to see if perhaps I could have a good daytime running light that would draw next to no power in one of T2's housings and then keep the 55W H3 in the other. Much larger than the standard bulb. So large that it wouldn't fit into the housing as-is. I had to enlarge the hole in the housing to make it fit. It makes a good bit of light and would probably be OK as a DRL. Not nearly as much as the standard bulb. It emits next to no light and would be useless for riding at night other than being seen by others. None of this really matters though, because I took a 9 mile trip and in that time it completely fell apart. What a piece of junk. I'm sure there are good ones out there, but here's the one I got so you can steer clear of it if you have a similar idea. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400219008237&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

You looked into a HID conversion as you do a lot of night riding? It's on my to do list.

Not really. Looked like more money and effort than it's worth to me. The 55W in these housings works quite well.

Can't get 55w for mine, not decent quality one's anyway. It's a H8, which is more unusual. I can still get a twin (hi and lo beam) HID kit for $100 or so. It's easy to overrun a 35w bulb at 70mph, especially considering the state of the roads around me. Hit a badger at 65mph a few month's back, that was scary enough :help:

The stock Triton housing is pretty sweet with a 60W, but I guess only certain years of Runners use a similar housing as the Triton. It is the most comparable to a car's headlights that I've had on a scoot so far. It was fine for me at 70MPH.

That's pretty cool. Would be an interesting project on a scoot. I doubt I'll mess with it anymore right now. I really don't need the additional charging capacity from lower load lights anyway. I don't run any accessories on T2 and my tail, brake, and turns are all LED already. The main reason I even tried it was that it was $5.50 and I figured it would install quick and easy.

I'm tired of reading and typing from a long update ATM, but I will try and remember to go over those and add them later. Thank you.
