So much scoot porn in one post! Hell yeah man I can see the time and dedication in this build, which turned out a seriously sweet scoot Of course I'd have to put a 2T in it though š

If you can't already tell theres a lot of us here that are die hard 2stroke scooter riders. Haha! You've built a beautiful scoot. I'm glad your bringing some style to the 4 stroke category. 60-70mph on a scooter is always nice. I think the Taida is definitely the way to go.

Yeah, I know there are a lot of 2 stroke freaks. Thatās totally cool. Iām learning more about them on the forum.
The big gy6 and the Ruck go so well together youād think that Honda would build like that in the first place š
And when it comes to performance gy6 parts Taida is by far the best. A lot of it comes down to the metal they use. Your typical Chinese gy6 is cast recycled aluminum that isnāt that great. Cases crack and threads strip all to often. The Taiwanese (Taida) use a better quality aluminum and forge (some of) their parts... and they make bigger bores.
Mines half Chinese half Taida, with the engine brace to reinforce the Chinese parts.
The 232 Taida is possibly my next engine move but those engines you donāt really build, you have them built by a pro. Kinda takes some of the fun out of it, but apparently youāre pushing that engine to its absolute max displacement and itās easy to screw up. Itās a race engine.
Also Iād pretty much replace my entire current engine, so Iād have a complete 170cc engine, carb, etc sitting in my garage with no home. That would drive me crazy and Iād end up starting a new build... and a whole new build cycle would start over. Itās a slippery slope!
A rear disc brake, thatās do-able

Sorry about the thread jack... I used to want the Aerox 100 but have learned that you really can't do much to them other than a very mild 125cc bore. Would probably be pretty torquey and reliable though.

Since the weather is shitty outside and I'm kinda waiting on a new battery that'll show up next week, I found a garage project. I've had a wideband A/F sensor for a while now. I don't tune without it. But usually I hook it up to a separate battery in a backpack, zip tie it to my bike, ride it around, tune and take it off. Now I'm gonna add one as a permanent fixture. I'm just starting, I'll post the progress. Here are the goods: Sensor and gauge Carbon fiber gauge holder that will slide on the exposed portion of my front frame. The carbon has some blemishes but I used to have a cup holder there in the same shape and it gets kicked alot. So you can imagine it below the battery box and behind the forward peg cross member And this is the existing bung I'll screw the sensor into First thing first, i need to make double sure the gauge holder fits in between the front part of the forward pegs crossmember. If it doesn't fit I need to find an alternative. Second, since these things are made for any kind of vehicle, the lengths of those cables will have to be cut to size and reconnected. So I'll mock it up and the cut a length out of the center and then reattach the wires with bullet connectors. I use bullets instead of permanent connections so if I have to take it apart, I can unplug the leads and not remove the whole thing. Then I know I have some switched power connections under the gas tank in the frame "groove" that I used for the fuel gauge. Those are bullet connectors too. One is a female and another is a double female. I'll put new ends on them so the single female is now a double and the double is a triple. This way when I turn the key, it'll kick the wideband in, when I turn it off, the wideband goes off. I'll get some time tonight to take the floor board off and forward pegs and get a mock up. Then snip snip and crimp crimp.

Well that was fun.
The gauge holder wonāt really fit, and itās going to scrape up all the powder coat thatās on there. Need to find another gauge holder solution.

Mew mount idea. Ordered a gauge pod. Neighbor has a CNC so Iāll try to build this part. The ruck has a hole in the frame on the floor that I can bolt to. Iāll see if I can make this work

I've been looking at the Malossi A/F gauge for my Italian Carbed 4 strokes. It can run under its own battery or be permanently mounted. Being designed for scooters it might be a better bet. At least when you contact support they don't think your crazy. Here is a link to it.

They donāt think youāre crazy. Iāve spoken to the guys at AEM and they say since itās designed for any vehicle they make the leads long and include the butt connectors to cut it to length.
Most just temporarily hook up the sensor to tune it then take it off. Once things are tuned it really doesnāt change. The sensor in your link would be better for the quick tune.

Meanwhile, I got the 2018 World Cup Ball. I have been collecting them for years. I think this is the fourth one. The best was the South African ball. That one was a āknuckle ballā to the keepers. It didnāt spin. Moved around in the air and they hated it. Ok, now back to work.

Iām mocking this mount part up in tin, since I can cut and bend that easily. Once I get it right Iāll make it in aluminum. Once the prototype is working and fits and stuff Iāll go down to the metal shop and have it built in steel. Then Iāll run the final product to the powder coat guys.
Need to wait for the pod to arrive so I can build the mock up.

Other stuff. New lith ion battery and a lith ion charger. Donāt ever use a regular tender on lith ion if itās not designed for a lith ion (and they arenāt). Youāll fuck it up.
