Thanks 2stroked. Do you run an aftermarket variator? Nope. Stock Vari/Clutch. Just a good belt, new sliders, and I don't run grease in the front half. Graphite powder only. I have thought of aftermarket vari replacements, but honestly with these there's not really a need for more top end or higher take off.

tydeancustoms, I know this is a long shot, but would happen to have a service manual/wiring diagram for a 98 Helix? I only have them for pre 91 and it looks vastly different. In specific I am looking for the thermostatic fan switch circuit. The idiots that butchered this poor bike had two hot leads running to the fan, and no juice at all going to the switch. I think I know what to do to fix the issue the right way, but I don't wanna fireball the ole girl.

How is it to find parts for an older helix scooter? Are common replacements still available from Honda. Is there much available in aftermarket parts? I love the look of your conversation. I want a ruckus. I don't like the super long stretched ones. Your bikes are a great mix of looks and power. Thank you for documenting your build. I order stock parts from Partzilla. They have most parts needed. Some aftermarket parts available for the Helix. A ton of aftermarket parts are available for the Ruckus. Thanks for the compliment. The Ruckus is a fun scoot.....with the swap it is so much better!

I know mine is + to fan motor, fan motor to thermal switch, thermal switch to ground.

Thats the one. I got it. I just ran a new section of harness, and capped the old.off to keep it safe. NBD. Just a hot to one side of the switch, the other side to fan hot, then a ground. Kicks it on in time.
Thanks anyway.

It lists the switch as positive bias. I wasn't sure about the newer ones, so I just made a new circuit. Popped a 10 amp inline fuse in and crossed my fingers. Off hand, were the wires on your switch green, and green with *BLUE* stripe?

My switch wires are green and green with *black* stripe.
The stripe looks black to me?? It could be dark blue.

Hey I just ran to Chicago from Detroit and picked up I Helix for 300 bucks. I'm going to do are Ruckus swap. With just a pod filter on the carburetor it seems to be bogging down just curious what size Jets you ran in you're carburetor?? I was kind of wondering what you were saying ( i opened up the slide vacuum port, clipped the spring) I was just wondering what you meant one other question when you relocated the radiator are you still running the fan on the the radiator??
