Yeah, now ya'll can mod 'em out so they'll do 70 and get Yaris mileage :riding: Gas prices have eased around 12 - 13% in the last 1 1/2 month. There's no guarantee they will stay down or keep dropping though. There may be another release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve since the speculators got wholesale gasoline prices back up to $3.00 today from a low of below $2.80. The release adds uncertainty to the market to discourage speculation. Also as the value of the dollar falls the price of oil naturally goes up.

"American ingenuity" I guess it's ingenious to copy off of other countries and to import from China and Japan? The TV shows love to show Vespas, since the news folks know exactly nothing about scooters other than the name Vespa. If you also knew no better, you'd think everyone has a Vespa. All scooters are Vespas aren't they? Oh no, that's right Honda and Yamaha make them too. I see lots of other Chinese scooterers when I do see them around me, one Vespa and a handful of Yamahas. Also, "the 600cc sportbikes are outselling the 1000cc and up so the trend is there to save fuel and money" (that's not exact but close enough). I don't think buying a 600cc sportbike means you wanna save fuel and money. The difference in the monthly payment on a racing 600cc like a CBR600RR and a CBR1000RR is pretty small. I know a lot of folks that buy 600s simply because they're lighter and damn near as fast. In 1/4 mile a good rider on a 600 will outrun an average rider on a 1000. Even the crazy folks often don't care about the area where the liter bikes excell... well over 100MPH.

Over the past two weeks I have rode my scoot to work 6 times, the other days it was raining or they called for rain and I didnt want to take a chance. That alone has saved me $70.00. While thats not much a little bit at a time counts up. The gas prices here just went up as the state just passed a higher tax on the gas, our tax on gas is now at 0.40, so just as the gas prices started to fall our state felt the need to add more tax and the price went right back up.

I have no idea what 12hp 2t Vespa Rather is referring to? It's certainly not a new one. No new 2t Vespas are currently being marketed in the US.
Ed: Listen to the engine sound @ 1:57. If that's not a 2t I'll eat my mouse.

If that's not a 2t I'll eat my mouse. I thought the same thing actually. Certainly does sound like a 2T. The truth is that at least some of these reports are from as far back as 2009. It doesn't seem to me that companies such as MX Motorsports and USA Wholesale Scooters (not to mention the droves of other small retailers out there) that have enough inventory to last a lifetime. Admitedly, scooter sales are on the rise all over the world. I'm just worried that the state governments may opt to cash in on them by requiring licencing, insurance, and so on.
