Has anyone of you guyz tried the a17 camshaft I would like to get one but there is not enough reviews out there on this cam.I assume it has a lot of torque but I also believe it might float a valve. Thanks

Thanks I heard the a9 was a good cam for bottom and top end speed. I have one but I never tried it. Well the A9 makes best power around 7-9k rpm it runs alright in the higher mid range say 5-6k rpm but from idle to around 5k rpm its making less torque than a stock cam due to lower cylinder pressure. A9 is a racey cam with a lot of overlap and works best on higher compression engines

Thanks for that info I'm going to try out the cam I will definitely keep you posted. One more thing are you saying I will not have a fast take off like stock.

Assuming you leave the transmission untuned then yes you will be slower than stock with any higher rpm cams. With the A9 cam you want ATMOST 11 gram variator weights, anything higher than that and your upshifting before the power band. In my experience 9 grams are the fastests but not as street driveable as 10 gram weights I usally leave the rear pulley and clutch springs alone

I just don't know which way to go so upgraded everything taida big valve head 30/26 taida 63mm forged piston ncy ignition coil Dr2 variator shorty clutch high performance exhaust and 13/40 gear I might need to change the gears. I also have the 30mm pumper carb I'm trying to build a street racer not a drag racer I'm 240lbs GPS 73 what should I do about the cam and gear.

In my opinion, those are some super tall gears. My friend has a 180cc kit, Dr Pulley variator and 12g sliders, he hit 77 on his Chuckus the other day with stock gearing. I would install the smaller ones you have and try those out for a bit, you might like it better.
