Here's my process... 1: wet sand with 400 grit 2: wet sand with 600 grit 3: wet sand with 1000 grit 4: wetsand with 1200+ grit 5: polish with handheld buffer and automotive polish, then carnuba wax.
Steps 1 & 4 can technically be skipped and it will come out well.

There's a specific clear coat that is meant for this, but I can't remember what it's called or where to get it. It's very thick and wipes on with a paper towel and is self-leveling.

There's a specific clear coat that is meant for this, but I can't remember what it's called or where to get it. It's very thick and wipes on with a paper towel and is self-leveling. My process includes a 2k Clear by U-POL 400 wet sand 600 wet sand 1000 wet sand 2000 wet sand U-POL 2k Clear allow 24 hours to set then Wax/Polish. Will never turn yellow again.
