That E15 is probably acidic. Check for corrosion in the fuel system. Old E10 almost completely dissolved my in-tank fuel pump assy. entire fuel system is ripped put. Its acid amd the growth insidw was the tank was taken care of with bleach, zylene , acetone , spirits and carb cleaner. The float is disintegrated so fuel level will be a guess. New parts are so hard to find that actually fit

Oh man...thats bad news its mot a competitor for anything fast from the factory. It was a hot hatch by Euro standards . The French connection came at the very end before dodge bought AMC for the jeep brand.

Went to take the car home yesterday. Sprung a coolant line leak.... fixed that so while idling the car decided to start puking out the over flow. Either the thermostat is bad or I blew a head gasket..... it never ends with this POS.

So the over heating issue was a fan belt ( this is why I like the elec water pumps) Managed to drive it home and it did great on the highway. ( Had a buddy follow me, he said every time it shifted up or down a gear the ass end broke lose. This includes when I might have been around 100 and down sifted to 3rd ) until pulling into my hood. It surged and broke up with a fuel supply issue. I did take it for a test drive on the 4th and it threw its second belt. Fixed that. Cant really get to go past idle with out fuel starvation. Got a replacement filter to put on tomorrow.
Drove it Saturday and after letting it warm up to annoy my neighbours I but it in reverse to back up and it instantly blew a high pressure line. Small fluid fire and giant puddle. Fixed that and toke it around the block... blew line again. Fixed it with two clamps and a better barbed fitting.

The EFI developed a short in the throttle body. FiTech was no help but Summit Racing was perfect. Drove the car to work all last week. Runs amazingly well. Tore down the old 406 and found 2 broken pistons and 1 slightly bent intake valve. Ported the heads to a felpro 1206 and smoothed the combustion chambers. The Procom intake that was on it is a nice piece but the runners dont have the roof material to blend it to the 1206. I can get close but I also have a vintage torker single plane that has plenty of meat to port but its a lot more work and I get an extra 1/2" - 5/8" clearance under the hood.
