Ok I couldn't really get my scooter started but managed to do so I rode it and it was putting a bit I noticed while I was riding well when I got home I turned it off and went inside for about ten minutes then I came back to put the key in it and nothing absolutely no power it seemed well I put it on a jumping machine then I got power so questions are what is wrong with it for starter's and what do you think it may cost to fix it myself or by a shop

Suggestion for forum admin . . .
Consider creating a "Stoners" section, as a place to move queries lacking punctuation, to be deciphered by other impaired members.

bigdog, it is just more difficult for others to have to mentally create punctuation for your thoughts.
If nothing else, try pressing the RETURN key after you have gotten your thought on the screen. No need for the 'marks', just bang on the key...
My mind automatically presses the space bar two times after each 'period'. Picked that up in 'typing' class in 8th grade. It stuck.
It takes me twice as long to interpret when the thoughts start & stop without the hint of punctuation. I expect that you will get more and better response if YOU take the effort to stick a few carriage returns into your message. I am a lot less likely to take the time if YOU are not willing to take a bit of time, and make just a little bit of effort. It is certainly your choice, as it is mine. tom

If the starter did nothing when you pulled the brake lever and pushed the START button, look to the battery cable connections, and the starter relay connection. You can jumper with a larger wire from battery + terminal to the starter relay starter side, and if the starter rotates, you may have a relay problem. Jumper directly to the starter to check the starter itself. Check the battery ground cable terminal and the connection to frame ground as corrosion can occur underneath and not be visible. Test and report what you find. tom

OK figured out that i needed a battery. So i got one. And now the moped.keeps dyeing and that's if it starts. It normally starts once every 24 hours. Then dies right after and then will keep trying to start but no such luck. Any idea ?

You may need to clean or adjust the carburetor. If clogged with stuff, the carb cannot produce burnable fuel to the engine. You can try turning the idle stop/speed screw a bit tighter. That will open the throttle a smidge from where it now sits. That may make the engine run better when cold, and possibly keep running after you get your once-a-day startup. The carbs mostly have an enrichment mechanism that turns off after the key has been ON for a minute or so. If you turn the key on, engine still cold, and leave it that way for a while before starting, you reduce the enricher work so the engine is running leaner than normal even though it has not been started. Once the key is ON, the heater inside the enricher starts to move the probe towards cutoff, or normal 'lean', whether the engine is running or not. tom

If the engine dies when you give it gas, it is likely getting a mixture that it cannot burn when you open the throttle. Try opening slower, allowing time for the fuel to catch up to the airflow. OR, check that the accelerator pump mechanism works. It should squirt fuel each time the throttle is opened from idle. There should not be much throttle movement before the squirter does its thing. I would add that I may be wrong about the enrichment being powered whenever the key is ON. It may be powered such that it only gets power when the engine is running. Wiring diagrams are difficult to track down that match the 'as built' system. IOW, many differing ideas of how things should be done are in use. tom

Sounds like a carburetor issue.
