Recently I have installed a 44mm BBK and I will install another one on my other scoot, like humanshield and 90GTVert created poll for 47mm and 50mm, I thought that there should be thread for 44mm too
I'm just wondering what the current consensus is on 44mm bore BBK's FROM THOSE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY USED THEM PLEASE.
Do you use a 44mm BBK? If so, how did it work out for you? Did yours fail early? Do you have any suspicion of the reason for the failure? How hard do you run your scooter? Do you take it easy or gun it every chance you get?
I really want to see if going with 44mm instead of 47mm will keep you going for longer or it is not worth it
Cheers

I just sold the Jonway with the 44mm setup. I thought it worked well, and produced good power. Too soon, and also sold, to know if it will fail early. I tried to vary the throttle after the first start, and stayed at/below 3/4 throttle as much as possible, with a few 'kicks' followed immediately by allowing the throttle to close completely for a while. Mine was an assembly of parts from different sources. Rings, piston and cylinder all came from different sources. I did check the surface of the cylinder head before doing the install. It had a 'dip' on one side of the cylinder, right next to the cam chain area. It was not as bad as the Taotao that had been overheated, but is was a bit warped. The cylinder/piston removed were 47mm, and had poor compression. Valves were cleaned up to insure good seat matching. It did suffer from a questionable carburetor, so that was swapped, and it ran a lot better. I was very pleased with the performance, and it seemed to match that of the 47mm Taotao, if not exceed it. tom

I've put cheap 47mm kits=72cc or so with no issue. Rejet the carb and your gtg.

rocket, you are posting in a thread about 44mm BBKs. There is a thread about 47mm where you can place comments that relate to the thread content. It should be one level 'up' from this thread. tom

I ride my like a rental most of the time. It lives in Florida I use it when Im down there. Gearing a little too high with the Michelin tire. Only pulls about 7800-8,000rpm. With the Shinko The tire was a smaller diameter and could get more RPM and top speed. Runs good no problems from the BBK. Only has like 2400 miles on the BBK. Two strokes are a lot more fun thought.
Has anyone put/researched/thought about putting a Zuma 125 throttle body on this setup? If so how did it work?
