whats up guys. so i have a cheap 6 rotor drone and all of the sudden the one motor just stopped working. swapped batteries and nothing new. but i noticed if i run the motors and push the one bad rotor around it would start to spin. but when i turned off the other motors and try to get it to run again on its own it wouldn't.. and now i have no turns or anything. so i tried to test the motor with a battery and 2 wires and it didn't make it spin. just powered the whole drone up. the other rotors didn't spin but all the lights came on. if anyone has any idea what i can try or do let me know!

Brush wear. Replace the brushes, clean the armature if possible, or just replace the motor.

the company offers replacements but there customer service is trash. i tried to clean the motor but dont really know how to. i hooked up a battery direct to the motor and it wouldn't spin at all. i think it may have spun a half turn but it could have been my hand moving too.

Disassemble the motor and show a pic of the parts.

Replace all the motors or get another drone.

They look like a general type of Mabuchi motors. They are throw-away motors used in many products. If you cannot find replacements then the drone probably needs to be replaced, they don't last forever.

I have to just throw away an entire drone because of 1 motor? So i can search those motors and possibly get one? Can you find me a link to one by any chance?

Wow thanks man. Really wish i could buy one but if another one goes out i can use them. Ok so update. I took a spare motor ae hooked it up to my drone and sure enough it spun. So what could make the old motor stop working. Or how can i coax it into coming back to life?

Could simply be the microelectronics in them units had a mild voltage spike and nuked. Or shoddy chinese craftsmanship led to its early demise - they are made of chopsticks and fish oil and other chinesium...

Google "Mabuchi motor". I am not going to hold your hand for a fool's errand.
If you find a replacement, replace all 4 motors. If one has worn out all the others are close to failure. Uneven performance due to replacement motors not being an exact replacement will cause drone flight problems. A new motor, even if exactly matched, will perform differently than used motors.
Those motors are throw-away motors.
Buying a new drone is probably cheaper than replacement motors.
