I haven't taken the Lehman causeway yet but I don't think that it be a problem to be honest... I was riding a couple of nights ago from south beach up to Miami beach where I live and it started POURING rain and the wind was really really bad! I don't have much experience on anything with two wheels and a motor so I was very skiddish about keeping my speed up... I was going like 10 maybe with one foot off the scooter in case the wind was heavy enough to push me too far... kinda felt like it was going to lol normally I don't mind wind... like today was pretty bad too but it was already dry and I was fine but yea that sucked. Hey I want to replace my headlight lamp with like a LED lamp of sorts... how do I find one compatible? www.scooteratvparts.com/tao-tao-scooter-atv-parts-and-universal-parts-for-other-brands/scooter/parts-by-model/cy50-b-50-vetas/headlight-assembly.html This is the stock headlight assembly... not sure if it helps narrow anything down thought I would include it... I can't see much with the current light when its dark unfortunately.

Yeah getting caught in the rain happens to all of us. Buy a good rain suit on Amazon. It doesnt take up too much space under the seat. Make sure to wear an orange construction vest on top of the suit to be seen by the other cars.
I havent been to South Beach yet, that must be pretty gnarly. Did you see alot of other scooters? Did you actually go on 195 or 395? That must have been scary as hell because those are expressways.
I have only seen 1 other scooter out of a hundred that wears a construction vest the way I always do. In Miami most scooter riders are squids from what I can tell, Only 20 or 25% of then are wearing a helmet and only 10% of them are wearing gloves. I have yet to see a single scooter rider wearing a motorcycle jacket, motorcycle pants or boots. For my use case (in this extreme Summer heat) I make it a point to wear a full face helmet, gloves and an orange construction worker's vest. And always pants and shoes. No flip-flops.
As far as your question on the headlamp I recommend you create a seperate thread and you will get alot more input.

I liked the style of the yellow scooter in the youtube so much that I went back and watched again to find out the brand/model. From memory, it is a Lifan 50cc, exact terms escape... Mebbe goog Yup: www.motorstown.com/28176-lifan-lf50qt-2a.html Nicely done, IMO. No extra Flash Gordon stripes and Shazaaam!!! logos/scripts. Lifan makes a lot of engines/generators/power equipment. Didn't know they made scoots. I don't think LED bulbs are all made the same. The output must be concentrated by the reflector to produce usable light, otherwise you are trying to light too much area. The LED bulbs I have seen don't seem to get the light properly gathered to make good use of the reflector. Incandescent OTOH have all their light emitting from the filament. You may be able to replace the bulb with one of higher wattage. Many use a 35W/35W bulb with a BA20D bayonet style. If the bulb is inserted into the socket upside down, or the socket installed into the reflector upside down, the light produced on HI may be reflected up to the sky/down to the road/what ever rather than where it is desired. Ditto for LO power if upside down. The plastic lens should be clear, not fogged or 'sunburned'. Polishing with a mild mild mild abrasive(such as the headlight 'restore' kit) might make them better. Some are beyond rescue and will stay 'tan' no matter what you do. I think. tom
