Are you talking about some sort of a programmable LED message board?

There are some apps out there but you need to have a way to talk to the DMX. The LED's I work with are DMX controlled ( Digital Multiplex). You generally set a profile on the light defining how many bits you want to use then address the unit with a number 1-512 to tell it what to look for. If you are using 4 bits you can address them with 4 numbers between each unit. An example would be 100 for the first 104 for the second. I usually put 10 numbers between them. Usually each bit tells it what to do for that bit, it depends on the unit. Then you need a controller to tell the unit what to do. here is a Wikipedia explanation for it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX512. I just set up 15 LED lights that we set for 8 bits. Each light using its own 10 bits of address. With the lighting console we have we can change colors with the touch of a screen on the lighting console. Here is a picture of the lights close to white: What exactly are you doing?

I'm not familiar with any of that hardware so I can't help you. I think just go through the effects and find what you need.

Well it appears you did your own math for this one.. 60 led per meter x 5 meters =300 led

Best you can do is connect the led strip the way it is explained in your directions. Then play around with the settings until you get the desired effect, if there is not a preprogrammed effect like you would like, you may have to look into arduino to make your own modes. Not something for a novice i woukd say

is it pretty hard to program your lights. i seen some stuff where you just type in a bunch of random words and that makes the lights work. and yeah i was just confused on the lights.
