whats up guys. was wondering if anyone can give me a place to look on my push mower. ok so the mower is old but reliable all summer long. and all of a sudden it just wouldnt run anymore. cleaned out carb. put fresh gas in. not that it was old. and now it only starts up and shuts right back off. i got a new plug and cleaned carb out.

2 or 4 stroke? Briggs , honda??? Got spark?

Need a picture or engine make & model #. If I had to shoot from the hip, it sounds like a fuel delivery issue. If it was a intermittent coil issue, it would run longer till it warmed up and then it would crap out.  |

Shoot some magic (ether) in it. If it starts it is fuel related. Rule of thumb-remove the sparkler, put your thumb over the hole and crank it over. If it blows your thumb off, you have enough compression to support combustion. If the compression is low it has had the course. Could be a blown head gasket.
