ok guys, so i have a 300 led 60 led per meter addressable strip and im having issues powering it. ok so i have a 4.5v 100ma wall power supply that the strip calls for. well it calls for 5v but i figured maybe ill see some light.but they only flash for a second so i thought maybe not enough power. so i grabbed my 12v and it powers them up just fine but cant turn the nrightness up the entire way. after i get maybe to half way brightness they shut off and flash. the website i got them from said that 12v might burn up the led strip but 5v isnt enough to even turn them on? what i want to know is how much power do i need to use them normally. also my 12v power supply got semi hot. hot enough to get my attention. so what does that tell me? www.ledlightsworld.com/page.html?id=38on this site i have the option under c. i have 500cm 60led per meter. im by no means an expert on electrical things but this is all i really know so far. the site in the link says to use 12v but mine says to use 5v.
