Yep that's the stuff drives me bonkers, my laptop has expired and a new cell phone and large tablet has replaced it.The phone is manageable but the tablet has been a problem for me the kids have no problem showing me what to do and google/utube/Facebook and I,m sure god himself scream it,s easy but I,be been trying to upload my photos for a month now and I just cracked it
Take photo with phone Tap on photo to reveal what looks like a bolero to me Tap on save to drive (google drive is not a road related thingy) Job done it,s in the cloud
Just how I do it

I still live in decades past. I do basically everything on a desktop PC. My laptop is around 10 years old and painfully slow. It's for emergencies only (desktop issues) and I really only ever bought it to tune a car. I still use a flip phone on prepaid service for $100 per year, and that gets turned on when I break down or if there's something truly useful to do with it. I have a smartphone. I think it's an iPhone 5, but I don't really care what it is. It has no service. A friend gave it to me a few years ago because I usually got him to browse my site when I worked on it just to make sure mobile looked good. I just use it on wifi to do something like that on occasion.
I do sort of want a smartphone, but phones and plans are too expensive for me. Sooner or later it will be made so everyone must have their phone to do anything, but for now I'm still OK with as cheap as I can get. The way I see it, anything I pay into a phone, can't go into a scooter and phones don't impress me.
I'm not even 40 and I'm the old man for thinking this way. Even people my age act like they never knew a time where you could go for a ride on a car or motorcycle or just relax and not give a damn what's happening anywhere but directly around you. No updates about Sally and Jimmy or what they're crazy children have done now. Not one alert that sends you to picture of what someone is eating for dinner. No notice of who is currently offended by what. Just an open road and knowing that life will be there when you get back.
Don't be fooled though. I love technology. I think it's amazing. I wish I could afford more of it. I just don't want to become a slave to it.

Also, a friend just talking to me last weekend said the 9/11 (2001) date made him think about how much different things are. He said he was in college at the time. The college was closed and he heard that someone crashed a plane into a building. He said he thought, "what an idiot" and went on about his day by going to work instead. It wasn't till 2:30PM that day that he learned what actually happened because he and the guy he worked with went to do a job where there was a TV on. He played CDs in his truck and the work truck, so nothing from the radio. He said it's almost unimaginable to him now that anything like that could happen and it could take essentially 5 hours to know instead of 5 minutes. It's good and bad. Major events and emergencies... yes, notify me. New post with a picture of text with a saying that applies to your life or used to take a dig at someone you don't like... no, no need to notify me while I'm out riding.

I keep up with modern tech, though I don't utilize it much for myself, mainly customers. I don't even own a damn PlayStation or x box.

After years of not owning a smart phone, I finally gave in 6 months ago. Still don't use it much, but maps is good if I am out and get lost. When I go out for the day riding i don't need updates. Just me and the ride thank you.

I am a Luddite I guess, but I am 65 years old and built computers in my garage before there was a PC.
Like Brent, I still use a desktop PC (two of them) and a flip-phone. I have a laptop but it has no OS on it at the moment and hasn't had for about a year. I should fix that. It had W7 on a spinner that I replaced with a SSD but I was unable to transfer the OS. I may just have to try to load the W7 CD I used on my bedroom desktop PC. I use the bedroom PC to play DVD's and stream movies/TV.
I can't use a smart phone because I shake too much. I have enough trouble with my regular landline phone or flip-phone. I just use the flip-phone for outgoing calls, emergencies, etc, when I am away from home. I hate texting. My flip-phone only rings for people in my contact list. I still get sales/robo calls every day but the phone does not ring. My landline is a VOIP service and I get sales/robo calls on it but I am able to filter most of them out.
No facebook shit or other social media for me either. I am not 'PC'. I HATE beigeists (ref: Billy Connolly).
I have a multi-function printer setup but I have never used the fax function.
I use a wired network in my home and have two NAS units for file storage and a 'my-book' for PC backup.
People texting or playing with their phone and driving cause way to many accidents but phones are big business so nothing will ever be done about it. Thousands die or are maimed but the dollar must have priority. On the other hand, it also irritates me to have people talking over their phones in public, theaters, restaurants, etc. Personally I would love to just walk up and put a bullet through their brains to shut them up. Maybe I should use a machete or Katana to avoid any 'gun violence' though...

I have a 128gb SDcard setup on a Dell Chromebook 11 running Windows 10. Got the chromebook for $10 from the school when my kid graduated. It only had 16 gigs internals storage. Rooted the OS, flashed new BIOS, used wintousb to install OS, and VIOLA, Windows anywhere and any way you want it. I use the 16gig internal drive as a swap drive. EDIT: Remember, you don't HAVE TO activate Windows 10 on whatever device you install it on. Install it, but don't buy it when using it as a WINDOWS TO GO device.
