Is it just headlights dim or all lights?

After putting on new stator they came on dim and as I accelerated it gets dimmer and dimmer.

Time to do some voltage testing , do your headlights come on when scoot is running? (AC) time to trace some wiring, your definitely losing power , start checking grounds etc. Its tuff to try to troubleshoot without being there..

I understand that one. The new stator didn't have the ground wire coming out of it, and they told me that they discontinued doing that and it would be ok. The ground coming from the harness I ran back down and tied into the other grounds coming from the CDI and went on to engine.

If problem started after new stator was replaced..you get where im coming from?

Yes unfortunately. What I can't understand is it charges good. I was hoping it might be something with that ground issue.

Thats possible for ground issue , alot of these scoots have AC powered headlights that has its own feed from stator.

Yes it's AC coming from stator. Just can't figure out why this stator is not feeding enough. And thinking that raising the RPMs for it to drop the light voltage that it had to be a ground or short from somewhere?

If i remember , the feed for headlights goes to auto enricher at carb then travels to headlight....is you carb choke/auto enricher hooked up or working? It sounds weird but from stator it hits enricher before traveling up toward headlight & dimmer switch

No I'm looking at that problem also it seems to be running from the choke because the air mixture screw is all the way in. ( To right) and that's where it wants to idle. So that means the auto choke is not closing right? And if I remember it only had like 6 volts while idle. And green wire to choke showed about same volts

Bingo, if auto enricher is bad it kinda causes a short., or if not enough voltage feeding it it wont operate either.

Well what do u know...so I guess it's time for new one and I guess there's no way to fix it is there?

No they are a sealed unit., keep us updated after enricher gets replaced.

And so that is why my engine seems to be running to rich? And having to turn the air mixture screw all the way in? And maybe why at full throttle down hill it cuts out and when releasing the throttle and giving throttle again there's nothing for a few seconds? So do you believe that the Auto enricher is the problem for all of it?
