Lupo,it,s also cos they can,and the Americans don't,t seem to be as concerned about nodded bikes trucks ect our European laws make any variations to a type approved vehicle a nightmare and even worse for you in Germany ,.

I know exactly what you´re talking about. Basically my question was a more rhetoric like. If you want power, there is also the Ruckus 250 in the US Ruckus 50cc EFi is one of the best 4T engines ever built in scooter class. Honda Ruckus 50 engine, the Sym Mio engine and the Yamaha Giggle engine, I´d say compete in the same class, no matter if EFI or carburator. I mean some of these mods look really cool, even if I don´t quite like the 157QMJ series... p.s.: Also in Germany we have TÜV. They will never ever register a mod on a scooter like this. 50cc here is a completely different vehicle class. Basically it´s not a motor vehicle, so to speak. And its almost impossible, to turn a non-motor vehicle into a motor vehicle (on papers)here. To register a 50cc bike or scooter (50kmh or 60kmh max.) you just "buy" a metal plate with a number on it at the insurance office here in GER. That plate is just the proof, that you paid the insurance. Then you´re allowed to ride on public roads. No TÜV needed, no vehicle tax (which we have for bigger than 50cc), low consumption... Thats why scoots are quite popular here. I pay at a big insurance group here around 40$ per scoot per year. Not more, except fuel and service.

My ideal engine swap for the ruckus would be from the Honda PCX150. The only problem is, it's very very expensive. I think there's only one company, in California, that have the parts for the swap. Then I'd have to find a donor bike. I might have to sell one of my Rucks in order to do this, but i think it'll be worth it in the long run. Then I would be back to 100% Honda, better speed and reliability. Saying that, the GY6 has served me well and has not given me any trouble. But in all honesty, I would rather have a Honda engine on my Ruckus.
Here's a picture of a PCX150 swapped Ruckus.
