If any of you use Firefox for your web browser watch out for upgrades if you store any data in the 'properties' description area. Some people store passwords or answers to those pesky security questions in them. I know that isn't very 'secure' but it is done, apparently by lots of people.
They have done away with access to that description area and have replaced it with hashtags and other social media type stuff. Firefox version 61.x is the last one with access to the description data. If you upgrade to anything beyond that access is lost but the data is still there (for a while). With Firefox 62.x you can downgrade back to 61.x and the 'description' data will be visible again.
One can also export their bookmarks to an HTML file which will preserve the description data.
Apparently they have plans to make Firefox 64.x destroy all that data forever.
Personally I hate programmers that get so arrogant that they just wipe out features without letting people know.
I also use Thunderbird as my email client and I stopped upgrades long ago when the insane programmers decided that Thunderbird should be an 'everything' tool instead of just an email client.
Why can't programmers just leave well enough alone.
They say with engineering projects there is a time when you have to 'shoot the engineer and start production'. Maybe the same can be said of programmers.
Note: Before the flames are thrown, I am a retired engineer AND I have written thousands of lines of code myself.

In case some are wondering what he is speaking of, it's the properties dialog when you right click a bookmarked link: This will call up the following box:

And I agree on Thunderbird. It's what I have used for years, but the last update kind of angered me. It's all bloatware now, plus when you want to delete a bunch of junk, then go actually read an E-mail it cycles through all the stuff you just deleted first before it will get to what you want to read. VERY annoying. But still better then Outlook. Wish it was back to the way it used to be though. It was awesome then.

When I got tired of Thunderbird 'bloatware' I went way back to version 45.8. I don't remember what version made me quit. Firefox version 62.x was where I dropped back to 61.0.2. I have been making monthly donations to the Mozilla Foundation but I am going to have to review that donation since they have gotten too arrogant.
