So I sold some equipment they was heading to the dumpster at our shop and make some good money from it, $1500. Now for the real problem I’ve been thinking of getting a RD ever since I sold my last one and they just so happens to be a few decent looking 250 and 350’s around here but a Tig welder and shop tools would be nice. So either choice would technically be free. There is no right choice but I’m leaning toward a bike but a tig to make pipes would please me too. Which way would you go?

Go with the welder not as much fun as a bike but more useful.

Nice dilemma to have. I had an RD350 F2 in the 90's. Loved that bike. Even thought about getting another about 10 years ago. The reason I didn't is i think I would be disappointed. In its day it was a beast. Handled well stopped well, and would keep up with bikes double the size. Now after riding bikes with over three times the power it would feel pedestrian. Better left as happy memories. Of course if you just want to potter around and cruise enjoying the sound and smell ignore everything I said 😁

Thanks for the input guys. I guess it would be better to improve my tooling. It’ll probably serve me better for longer. The bike would probably cost me more in the long run.

With Black Friday coming... 4K TV + Xbox One X or PS4 Pro + Read Dead Redemption 2 (If you get the PS4 also grab a copy of "Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition") Or build a gaming PC like I am doing at the moment. For $1500 you can get a very decent build. This is gonna keep you busy during the cold days. ..or get the welder. It's up to you.

I'll be the odd man out and say I'd buy the bike, but that's probably strongly influenced by the fact that I've never owned a big 2T. The new 2T could then give you an excuse to buy a TIG to build it a pipe... or the TIG could give you a reason to buy another bike to build a pipe for. Works either way.

I would suggest to save the money and buy a tig machine if you ever need it. also don't forget that welding is pretty expensive for an hobbyist. you need to buy the gas and the tungsten electrode's And don't expect to weld exhaust pipe's in a day its quite hard.
So I would tend to save the money. But if I had to choose I would get the tig machine.

Well I found something to settle my craving for a motor vehicle and have plenty for tools, a 1980’s Yamaha snowmobile. I’ll get to try out making a set of pipes for that Now to find a decent welder... tsimi I rarely play games... I last 20 seconds in fort nite with my kids because I can’t figure out what the buttons do.
