Good call! Many times its well worth getting a pro to knock it out and pay him for his wisdom...

Sometimes it’s the best option, you get a quick turnaround, you put money in a locals pocket and now you have a friend you can ask Vespa questions.

OK... I’m going to catch some heat for this so go ahead... but work has really picked up and I have no time to work on this project. After finding the Vespa garage down the street (it’s basically a guy working out of a barn) I decided to take it over to him to get the engine back up. I know, I know. But at this point it would be apart in my garage all summer, I wouldn’t get to ride it, and then summer would be over. I did this for two years with my Ruck, so I kinda know how it’ll work out. So I’ll take it in on Monday and see if he can get the engine running. At this point in time I have slightly more money than time. :/ There's no shame in this. At all. As I get older I'm far more apt to pay someone just to get the work done as my free time to futz around with things is becoming very limited... Hence my Vespa is still in pieces months after I took it down to fix some stuff. Matt

I dropped her off. It’ll be a few weeks, he’s got other bikes in line... but the process is started. I was telling him about the bike and he’s like did you buy this from Timmy? I was like ya, and he said I know Scooter Timmy! So I feel like it’s still kinda in the family.

I envy your options I did get lucky with the shop down the road. When I’m in there again I’ll take more pics. It’s Vespa and Lambretta heaven in there.

On the bright side, even a couple of weeks is still the start of the riding season 😁

Nick at the shop was telling me that I need to install the rear view mirror mounts, not the mirrors, but the mounts because they make really good tie down points. I’m going to look for them.

Do the pinasco split rims work with the front disc brake?

Do the pinasco split rims work with the front disc brake? SIP says some disc brakes will require a mod. Gimera disc or something like that. I wrote them to ask.

Just ordered some mirror mounts. The guy at the shop told me that just the mounts, no mirrors, make great tie down points. He even puts them on bikes when he’s going to put them up on the lift... then he’ll take them off once it’s down. My tie down strategy was not very good when I dropped the bike off.
