Do the pinasco split rims work with the front disc brake? SIP says some disc brakes will require a mod. Gimera disc or something like that. I wrote them to ask. I'm dealing with this exact problem right now on my personal bike, so I can weigh in. The short answer is if you have the OE 5 spoke star hub found on newer PXs ( lilpinny - you do), the Pinasco split rims will work just fine. If you have standard OE drum hubs, they'll work with those as well. If you have the Grimeca NT classic front hub (looks like the one in the picture), then you will have to modify the hub to fit the Pinasco rim. If you have the 20mm stub axle found on newer PX's, you can buy a 5 star OE hub or aftermarket FA Italia hub to replace the Grimeca classic hub for a hundred bucks and change. If you have the older 16mm stub axle (like I do), short of an entire front stem change, on a Grimeca disk fitted bike the angle grinder is going to be your best friend (also pictured). Matt

When I get the bike back I'll put them on. I went to find another one last night and I read that about the disc and kinda freaked a little bit. Does the spare tire have a hub on it? I honestly never looked. I figure it does.

I don't run a spare since I went to tubeless. I'll go check and see if the split will fit. Hold on... Edit: Well, at least on my bike, the split wheel will not mount into the spare location. Matt

I guess it’s mostly to keep the bike whole. It probably doesn’t matter to have a spare. But, for the sake of wholeness to the original bike, maybe.,
I appreciate it!

Haha, sure if your bike is nice enough to keep original, then by all means. Mine is more of a rat rod... nothing is original aside from the frame at this point. Matt

Matt Sounds like the way some ruckus builds go. Mine and pinnys for sure lol On my Ruck, I can’t think of a single part on it that was not modified or replaced... actually now that I think about it the ignition cover is stock. But all the bolts, the head tube hardware and everything on up was modded or swapped out entirely. It was a great learning experience. A long, expensive (but still great) learning experience. I’m trying to avoid that with this one. At least I’d like to have it running before I take it apart. fugaziiv those Kendra tires you recommended work with the PINASCO split rims, right? I’m not sure what’s a stiff bead and what’s not. How can you tell? see I’m learning new things once again!

Hey, I am a little late to the discussion, but i wanna add to the Pinasco.
I have been riding them for a long time now and like em a lot. If you get a leak, it is because you got dirt on the o ring, or the valve is broken.
The modification is not that big of a deal, i run it in this one.
Are you planning on going full hydraulic?

This is sweet! Thanks! I don’t plan to do much with this bike at all except when it’s running put on a decent set of tires. Maybe a front rack. Dunno. The key thing is to have it running.

Engine needs a rebuild. Oil in gas, gas in gear box.
