I get annoyed just stringing a guitar with a Floyd Rose, so I can definitely respect the folks that build entire guitars.

Strings on Floyd's with a bridge lock (and I also use tuner locks -- kinda overkill) don't ever come out of tune. Change them on a regular basis and they don't break. But yeah, unexpected breakage can suck replacing that string

But yeah, unexpected breakage can suck replacing that string I've got a Dean with a FR and a lock. Drives me nuts. Something changes and then I'm turning dials for a while trying to get it right again. OK, the A is back... now the E is off... I just had to have a guitar that looks like Dimebag Darrell's. A friend has 2 PRS guitars and I play them regularly. Kinda wish I just bought a Custom 22 like his and never bought another guitar aside from an acoustic. Plays well, produces about any sound I want and hardly ever goes out of tune... and tune and retune in seconds. I fi wanna play around trying to recreate Dime-esque dive bombs and wails, the Dean with the FR is the way to go though... then I put it on the rack and play my $150 Ibanez with an EMG pickup and locking tuners that's easier to tune and restring. lol I'd prob appreciate the FR more if I used a whammy much.

Ian the guitar maker has changed the neck now as he wasn't happy with it and a few other bits. Now happy and relaxing trying to get his lighter working. 😊

I've built a few Cigar Box guitars. Certainly nothing special. Nothing like the works of art that your friend creates. But, just a fun thing that only requires a few simple hand tools. And, they are playable. Not by me, but I had a guy at the local music shop play the fretted one. He made it sound pretty good.
