Purchased one on eBay and it come without thread on 27mm side, i mean thread was actually there except its a set of all separate rings not connected together. WTH.

Sending it back and getting money is okay waiting for another one 1 week is unacceptable. this how my projects drag ages because one simple mess-up like this, i going to rent a jaw puller in Autozone it might damage the flywheel but whatever.

Yeah its not thread on the pulley its separate rings i checked with my finger nail one side nail moves other it stays in place.

This was made by a rouge chinese machinist. He chucked that part up in a lathe and with a threading tool bit and made grooves by plunging the tool to make a V slot the moving the carriage "x" distance and repeating the process to make it look like machine threads. If there is no pitch to the thread, its impossible for them to be formed with a die/threading head or a thread forming machine which are the quickest/economical machining process. My guess is they are mass produced in a NC machining center.

I have seen 'threads' like that before on bolts. Just one in a box of 100 etc. I have no idea how it could be done. I have cut a lot of threads with manual engine lathes both internal and external. I have used taps for many smaller internal threads and dies for small external threads. I have used pipe thread machines. I have never used thread formers or an NC machine to thread but I have seen it done.

I blew the image up a bit and the threads look like they have pitch. The first 3-4 threads look damaged(highlighted area in green. The first 3-4 threads crest(tops) are much lower(highlighted in red)

Yeah, not surprised. Had a friend order an Amazon one to get it same day delivered, and the GY6 side came in with standard right threads, not left handed. haha! he swapped it out, and waited like a good boy.

Those 'threads' are sad, really messed up. Like I mentioned I have seen 'threads' like that b4 but I don't have a clue how they could be made. They could not have been made 'single pointing' on an engine lathe.
