So was cruising in September 2018 around downtown Los Angeles and they really cocky about enforcing laws there so i picked up stuff from 7 eleven and made a u-turn from being by the carb on the right, across edge of pedestrian crosswalk and into opposing lane then instantly i heard siren in the back and some motorcycle copper run my papers. 1. Scooter was purchased with bill of sale no in my name, and i was like second person with bill of sale, however registered owner submitted to DMV that he sold it so it was on file in their database. LEO left me alone about this. 2. Insurance check, i told him i left it at home along with driving license, he run my DL number on database trough dispatcher and checked my information that it matches my address and name that i told him, then he run my insurance and it was not on file.
He did not interrogate me about insurance i just told him i left it at home. I know i have right to remain silent.
So i got citation:
- Warning for not having DL on me (free) - Going against the traffic $290 - No proof of insurance $900 Man i was pissed it happened around 2:30pm and it was end of the day, i took like hour to get home then i remembered that officer told me "since your insurance not showing up in our system i give you citation so you have to prove that you had it on today's date." I started calling different insurance agents and getting quotes it was close to cut-off time around 5pm and i got quotes that are $300-400, mind you i had like $100 on my bank account, then i called that Armenian guy and he quoted me $180 did everything over the phone and charged my card (overdraft protection kicked in so my account went negative $80 bucks), i had insurance active that same same day i been issued a ticket though. If i get it next day i think they would have given me less than $900 like half the amount or so. It was preliminary/arraignment hearing, only to enter the plea, this citation for no insurance was called "correctable violation" so after i presented the proof of having insurance on the day i got cited they dismissed that $900 charge completely, however charged me $25 fee for "correcting that violation".
Then i plead "did not contest" to the second citation - going against traffic ticket cuz i felt having another court date is too stressfull, and because of my plea (which is same as guilty) judge dropped the amount like $100. Total i paid was $222. P.S. I still got another second ticket like moth after this one - going trough stop light without stopping another $290 i will try to do same thing set court preliminary hearing date then plea "not guilty" wait for the trial date, try to reschedule it, and if officer who gave me ticked does not show up i am off the hook. If he's there i will simply plea "no contest" and pay another reduced amount.

Hmmm, wonder why you didn't get your Motorcycle endorsement? Seems you like breaking traffic laws.

got another second ticket . . if officer who gave me ticked does not show up i am off the hook
On the other hand . . that MAY be irrelevant IF you have "citizenship status" issues and have been deported!

In fact i been arrested 3 times and never got deported Los Angeles is " sanctuary city" for immigrants, millions illegals from Mexico live and work here without fear of being deported.

You are lucky. Here they will only issue insurance after the time you arrange it. All insurance has a start time, not just a day. If you get stopped without insurance your vehicle is impounded immediately.

You have a learners permit, not a fully endorsed motorcycle licence. You still need to pass your riding test. Endorsement and Permit are 2 different things.

Heck, we've got insurance on a car and truck here in MD and have been dealing with issues off and on for 6 months where the MVA sends letters to warn us or let us know that our registration is suspended because of a lack of insurance. Call the ins co and they say it's straight. A week later I get another notice of a suspended registration. That's with never being pulled over in them. Their system sees a valid vehicle registration with no insurance info attached and then they do this. I think it's all straight now, as I haven't had a letter in a month or so and they all say it's fine. Somehow they got partially wrong VINs... on vehicles registered and insured without any changes for 16 and 9 years. I think in that case if I got pulled over I could prove insurance in court if I didn't always have it in the vehicle and get out of the $1000 fine for lack of insurance, but they'll fine you here for not presenting insurance info or license even if it's valid because you must have it on you and they don't care if you can find it later. My neighbor had a bunch of citations for not presenting info that ended up being a substantial amount of fines. Crazy part to me was that he had a license and insurance, but refused to carry the info in a vehicle so every speeding or turn signal or equipment stop turned into an extra fine for that.
I've been into street racing and speeding like a nut and burnouts and had points conferences and driver improvement programs and had my license revoked at one point... but I never mess around with insurance. I'm that dude that figures the first time I go out without it I'll hit a Lamborghini and do $100,000 worth of damage to it in the perfect storm of a fender bender or end up with $1,000,000 in medical bills or who knows what. As long as I'm insured, I'm fine to act a fool though... which doesn't make much sense. I watch enough Live PD to feel like I'm nearly the only one that actually has their credentials to drive and doesn't have drugs or "glassware" in my vehicle.

I noticed this thread and figured it had to be good. But damn Katt. Everything you do seems to involve skirting the law or breaking the rules, then you complain when the results are negative. Multiple arrests and a general thumbing of the nose to the idiots running the sanctuary stupidity. You aren't much of an example for the open borders crowd.
If a vehicle is used for business, some places require a commercial license and even commercial insurance (don't know about Kali). You have neither and pull a "call the general" when you get caught.
I noticed on another thread that you were overhauling a scoot and in the background was a no parking sign, intended for someone else I'm sure. Then you're bringing parts to the kitchen, a kitchen that you rent at best I'll wager. I'll also wager that you'll pitch a fit when your landlord keeps your damage deposit.
So when you end up on Judge Judy give a shout out to the 49cc crowd. Just remember that Judge Judy don't put up with that buying insurance after the fact stuff.

Well no parking sign is my personal spot, and its me who put that sign because landlord let his neighbors park there cuz i have no car and they think its okay to park in my spot because there is no car, i paying for the rent and the parking so no its not okay therefore the sign. My apartment been painted by me because landlord failed to even do a paint job before i moved in, he's a slamlord.
Man i do so little compared to what other people here do, if California wants to make all kinds of stupid laws to charge us money i have right to fight it legally, i have not lied to the court, id did not tell them i had insurance before the ticket, i just showed them paper.
If you ever been to traffic court its unconstitutional just a way to extract money from people...

You seem to be proud of this fact. You being a visitor, one would think you would respect the laws of this country and stay our of trouble as much as possible. Sadly your not above the law when it comes to your immigrant status and the fact you live in a sanctuary city. If you break the laws, you need to pay just like the rest of the citizens that live in this country. That's just a lame cop out excuse. So if others jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, you should be entitled to as well ?
