Hello, I just recently purchased a racing style kill switch for my Eton Beamer scooter. The kill switch is the Jet Ski style with the red coiled rope as the "key".
I don't necessarily know the best way to install this on the scooter. I currently have my toggle switch type kill switch that came with the scooter. I would like to keep that kill switch active as well and installing the racing style kill switch as an additional kill switch needed to turn on the scooter. I initially thought of splicing it into the positive lead on the current kill switch, but I am not convinced that is the best way to go.
Anyone have any experience with installing this specific type of kill switch? The switch comes with a black wire and white wire ready to be wired up to the scooter. Any feedback is appreciated.

Is the toggle switch open or closed to kill the scooter ?
Iv added the same style to my Kawasaki 750sxi stand up jetski years ago.
I think the lanyard style switch is open when the lanyard is in place, and closed when its removed.

Is the toggle switch open or closed to kill the scooter ? Its just the OEM kill switch, nothing was altered there.

This is the wiring diagram if that helps anyone.

From the looks of the wiring diagram, ON, completes the circuit to the CDI. OFF opens it.(handle bar switch) Wires Brown(4)and orange(14) You need to know if that switch(lanyard) is open or closed when the lanyard is pulled.(I think its closed) PS: If possible, I would wire the switch in parallel(if possible). This way if the lanyard switch fails, you dont get stranded.

I believe the circuit is closed when the lanyard is pulled, correct. I am assuming the 14 is the power and 4 is the ground currently on the engine stop switch. My initial thought was to Tap the positive from the racing switch to the positive on the engine stop switch which I believe is the #14. I am also assuming the black wire on the racing switch is the power and white is ground?
I am super beginner with anything electrical on these things. Thanks for your help.
