If I had one with longer forks it would make a good airplane mover for the junk ones taking up space!

A forklift is always handy to have around if you can keep it somewhat reliable. Sometimes it is easier to just go rent a piece of heavy equipment when you need it. A company I use will drop the equipment you need off at your property and then come pick it up later. The last time I rented equipment it was an 8ton mini-excavator and it cost me $200 for a whole weekend.

They, of course, fill the damn things up til it can't physically hold another drop. Then when you run it for three hours and the Kevel doesn't move, you think its super efficient, but in reality the fuel gauge is useless. Shoed I used a bit over two gallons. Took four and a half to fill it up, and that bastard charged me 9.50 a gallon. If I had thought about that I would have filled it up at the gas station for half that.

You get charged for 'service' rendered, like refueling. The owner of the equipment rental company came by to talk to the operator running the machine I rented and observed me checking fluid levels etc and tightening some leaking connections so he knocked $40 off the rental and didn't charge me for fuel.

The bobcats had lock covers bolted over the engine covers, with tamper tape on everything. Here they would charge you for checking the damn oil. I have to rent a mini ex in a few days myself, for a new line set. 375 for the first 2 hours, 100 an hour for every hour after. Ivenhearf rumours that this guy has cellular locks on the equipment, if your card declines the third hour, he shuts it down...

Are you sure it's not just that you just look dishonest? sounds like a nice company to do business with. I bet you have to pay a big deposit up front too.

The only deposit I had was my credit card
I also had a real heavy equipment operator to run it.

Found out over the weekend a longtime friend of mine is restoring a 85 4 door alfie with the 75 option? He says it is 6 cyl almunium motor, rear tranny, inboard rear brakes. I'll get some pictures eventually.
